My guess is that the selection committee goes by in-game highlights, not YouTube clips.
But, it's a shame: it would've been nice to see Young get a little shine.
A bigger question is: will Caron Butler be invited to the 3-Point Shoot-Out?!?

I want to see Dwight Howard do something that was thought to be not physically possible.....like go between his legs and then tear the rim off the backboard.
Hope they let him raise the hoop...

I was pissed when I saw that last night. Since when is it only 4 guys? I always thought they had 6.

What is it exactly that Young has done to deserve an invite? I mean, besides miss dunks in games (even the misses look pretty).

I was hoping he would be in it too, hopefully he is a starter in the rookie/sophmore game.

I'm glad he isn't in it. The slam dunk contest is mostly a joke anyway.
He can stop practicing his dunks in practice and concentrate on everything else. I'm not saying he doesn't work on the rest of his game, but I was a little sick about hearing his plans for the slam-dunk contest - going back to November.
btw, they added HORSE back into All-Star weekend this year. So phat. If you've never seen the Pistol Pete clips of him playing HORSE at all-star weekend, youtube it.
Of course, they won't actually use NBA players - NBDL players this year.
Gil would absolutely be perfect for a HORSE competition.

Yeah that Pistol Pete horse competition was just awesome. I remember watching it on NBA TV or ESPN years ago. I love how he calmly steps up, describes his shot, and then goes out and does it like it's no big deal.
Here's a clip for those that haven't seen it:

With Young's legs, why is he only 31/67 under the basket? 46% at the rim doesn't cut it for a guy with his athleticism. He needs AD (53/80 - 66%) to teach him how to finish.

Credit to Rudy Gay though, he is asking fans to submit their best dunks on his youtube page. He'll pick a winner and replicate it during the dunk contest:

^If Rudy is just looking to replicate the greatest dunk he should just get on the horn with Frederic Weis and see if he's available on All Star weekend.
