I have to admit that I liked the signing when it happened. Though I've been unimpressed by him at times, it was not until about 20 games into this season that i really soured on him. I knew he was slow, but this season his D has been absolutely atrocious. When his J is falling you can play him against some backup PF's, when it isn't (like most of this season) he's like a combination of the worst traits of Ruffin and Jamison. Oh wait . . . both of those guys can rebound . . . so I guess he's even worse than that.

If his suckiness is due to injury (left over from the back, or something new), I feel bad for the guy. And I can't blame him for taking his paycheck. Heck, I'd play for the MLE (I'd just have to put a bag over my head to hide my shame -- I would be off the scale sucky). But EJ just shouldn't be playing him more than a few minutes per game except for garbage time and major big man foul trouble.

Another great game by Darius. In 20 minutes:

0 points, 4 rebounds while going -8

Songailia only took 2 shots and had 4 assists so he didn't have that bad of a game; for him anyways.

Who can we trade Songaila for?

I'm almost willing to take anyone.

At this point I'm willing to trade him for Ruffin.

I don't remember Ruffin being nearly as bad as DS.

Ruffin could rebound, play solid post defense and hustle his ass off. He actually had the ability to jump and run and walk.

And it's not like we'd be losing much on offense.

Why is he having his worst year?

http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/players/s ... yerId=1784

FG .427 is way below his average. .493

but he is shooting his best % from the FT line .929

You would have to think our shooting coach should have been able to get him straight by now.

I still don't think Songaila is terrible but he's a specialist. He really can't do anything except hit some mid range jumpers. I think he'd be more effective if he had some better players around him to open things up like in Phoenix or Boston...

Not anymore. He hasn't hit mid range jumpers with any consistency all season.

0 points (0-2 fgs) & 2 rebs in 17 minutes for Suck-gaila last night. Very Ruffin-esque to say the least.

Why don't we have a shrine for Darius?

So why is he so off?

You think it is just because the floor isn't spread enough?

Is it where EJ is playing him?

His FG % is way down.

Shrines are for the effort guys, the floor burn specialists, the fan favorites that no one else knows, Laron Profit . . . when the Ruffin shrine was created, he was a fan favorite and it was in tribute to his effort.

Songalia is not a big effort guy, either in terms of visible work ethic or defense . . . and he sure doesn't seem to be a fan favorite. No shrine.

Songaila took a wide open jumper last night and bricked it. He just cannot find the range for some reason.

It'd Groundhogs Day and Songalia is Puxatawny Phil.

Different game, different day... same sucky statline, same critical stretch of the game where, for some reason, the Wiz can't protect the rim and get a stop.

At the end of the day, though, you can't really blame Puxatawney Phil... the dude with expensive suits and no rotation keeps putting him in the same position to fail.

Cheeky of you to bump this Pine.

I must say, the past few games Darius seemed to have been reverting to the Suckgalia of old. But, he was very good tonight (especially on the offensive end). I do think that several of the Cavs offensive rebounds came at his expense though.

Nonetheless, I'll be a man and eat my words from the post right before yours.

Hey, I'm a Wiz die hard... I want the players on the team that suck to be good. I want Eddie to morph into Red Auerbach.

Can we get a title change with a 'not-so' inserted?

I'm liking the potential depth we got here.

Could be that the guy is finally healthy.

sorry long suffrin' boulez fan, nothing personal toward you.

Just wanted to note Darius' improvement in recent weeks.

We're all on the same team here. You, me, the rest of the board. We all want to see the home team do well.

Go Wiz!
