Man, I am SO happy to see Monk get in. I wonder what/who tipped it in is favor after so many years of getting the shaft.

As for Darrell, he's on the Mt. Rushmore of my childhood sports heroes.

I think these are the first two players to get in from the Redskins Super Bowl era.

Finally Monk is in! And Green deserves it. Congrats.

About freaking time. Good to see after years and years of ridicule of Dr.Z and Peter King that they finally saw passed their biases and gave Monk his due.

Still doesn't erase my disdain for them and the other voters for petty squabbles keeping a class act like Monk out while letting loud mouth cokeheads like Irvin in (not that Irvin didn't deserve enshrinement).

And Darrell Green ... nobody was keeping him out.

Congrats to both!! There was just no way Green wasn't going to be a first ballot and about time for monk.

After making so many clutch plays and always being one of the most professional athletes you'll ever meet, Art Monk finally gets his day in the sun at the HoF.

Monk's quiet demeanor is probably what caused him to wait so long.

Darrell Green was also a super-star - with atitude - which probably helped his chances.

The Giants have 3 titles and 4 appearances.

The Eagles are 0-2.

The division has 26% of ALL Super Bowl titles.

Never a doubt Green would get in but Monk got passed over so many times. Hard to understand.

I remember the year he broke the single season receiving record. That was a huge deal. In the context of the rules and the game back then, that was like having a 160 reception year.

Back then, your best WRs were getting only around 85

1984 lead all WR in receptions. 106 was like 20 better then the best back in a day when the CB could wear glue and jump in your jock strap.

1985 lead all WR in receptions again with 91
1986 Jerry Rice lead WRs with 86

Monk was the first player with more than 900 career receptions, finishing his career as the NFL's all-time leader with 940

It was absurd it took so long. He was a top WR of his time. Someone who set the standard. And a class act to boot.

I miss them. Hey, other divisions had their fodder also.

Chicago would regularly walk through that division.

Nice to have DET in your division also.

Tampa sucked forever.

I could've sworn there was at least a couple players from the Super Bowl era in the HOF by now...but now that I think about it, I guess Riggins is the only one. Did Russ Grimm get in?

I'm real happy for Darrell Green & Art Monk; for Monk, it's about time. Sorry to see some others get the shaft (Andre Reed & Cris Carter), but Monk deserved to be in.
