I have been looking for updates on Agent Zero and his return to the Wiz. Is there any news out there? I thought that he was scheduled to come back some time after the all star game? Any news would be appreciated.

He said March 1st the other night, but I doubt it. I'm calling April.

"I'm 20 to 30 days away from being back, baby!" Arenas declared.

Well, the good thing (apparently) is that he's relatively pain-free.

He just needs to get into game-shape, and knowing Gilbert's gym-rat status, that shouldn't take THAT long.

Sounds like it is Butler who is regressing. Eddie was quoted as saying there is no long range plan for him right now. They might even pull back on some of his rehab.

Gilbert is just biding his time until he can sign with another team, preferably a major media market team.

Gilbert can look around him and see what Cleveland is doing to ensure that LeBron has help. Boston, Detroit, Chicago, all making moves.
The Wizards won't even sign another 10-day for a point guard.

Sure, most teams are capped or near capped-out, but other organizations are certainly going to attempt to put themselves into position to make a run at Gilbert. Gilbert ain't sticking around this place.

That's when I start thinking about Bo Jackson. Hip injury is scary to me.

I think they should send Butler to the best healers of various disciplines.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Gil's played his last game as a Wizard.

Whether he stays or goes will come down to money and his perception of which team offers him the best chance to win.

How the Wizards handle Antawn's contract and resigning will also play a huge part in whether Gil stays.

I'd say in my mind Gil's return is 55-45 that he comes back. It's MUCH less if the Wizards don't make the playoffs and/or if Jamison gets a better offer and leaves.

CCJ- I don't think that Jamison will get a better offer anywhere else. That is, unless the Wizards don't extend an offer to him period, but unfortunately that won't happen. Jamison puts up good numbers, but I think he is really getting exposed without Butler and Arenas and I am sure that most GM's are noticing that the Wizards have been playing awfully bad lately under Jamison's leadership.

He is clearly not more than the 3rd best player on a team that is a bona fide contender. Teams in that position don't have the cash to throw his way and rebuilding teams don't want him either cause he'd carry too much cap space and block younger players from PT.

Now that Philadelphia is actually a playoff caliber team (in the East, mind you), I think they might actually persue Antawn Jamison in the offseason. They are already a near-.500 team and lacking in any kind of power forward depth. And Jamison's 3pt shooting would help them as well.

Miller
Iguodala
Young
Jamison
Dalembert

That's a pretty nice starting 5.

I disagree for the most part, no D.

I think Jamison averaging 32 and 10 in a playoff series and Jamison leading the league in on/off point differential are numbers that indicate he's a good player.

Without Caron and at the same time with a less-than-effective, hurting Antonio Daniels; I don't believe Jamison's leadership is the problem. Antawn CERTAINLY LOOKED BAD the New York game.

So, on the leadership part, no D, for that game I didn't see what I wanted to see from a leadership standpoint. During the losing streak the team was not very competitive and Jamison's play really slumped.

However, I think of all the hustle plays where Jamison scraps for a rebound or darts past a defender to make an unbeleiveable layup and I see the guy plays hard. The double doubles and improved defense are apparent. His great character and lockerroom presence do matter a lot.

I disagree on the "unfortunately" part, no D. I think the Wizards SHOULD resign Jamison.

What I believe is Jamison should be the sixth man a la Ginobili, when Gil returns. But that's not until Blatche outplays him at PF.

EDITED----- My other thought is with a different PG that CARON could be the SG and Antawn the SF. That makes sense. (Well, after the EDIT it does now). ----

I know it's frustrating that Jamison is not an active, physical defender, and that the Wizards can look real bad with him on the floor. However, Jamison's a real good player.
