expiring contracts- Jamisons value

Post#1 » by BruceO » Thu Feb 14, 2008 3:20 am

I want to play devils advocate for a sec. With alot of movements done during the last few weeks, deals that involve superstars, I've noticed alot of expirings being included. It seems very valuable these expirings as there are teams that are increasingly mortgaging their future and some that are resetting and rebuilding.
As a Gm if you are trying to improve the team next year. Do you feel you can get alot for him now? and if so do you..

a) Resign Jamison for less and use the difference to sign Arenas (and have essentially no improvement other than Arenas since you still have the same personel) He's still a good starter and possibly good six man

b) not resign Jamison and go after free agents for the missing pieces

c) trade him now for future free agents or players who are not going to be free agents soon and try and acquire through the trade the missing pieces.

I'm kinda curious what you guys think we can get for Jamison, because theres teams out there that really really need the expiring contracts to be able to honor their contracts.
