GT: ATL @ WAS -- 3/17/2008

Date: Tomorrow (Or Today, for you late posters)
March 17th, 2008
Time: 7:00pm (EST)
Who is going to win??
Our 32-33... I mean 33-32 Wizards (Stupid ESPN statiticians)?
PG: Antonio Daniels
SG: DeShawn Stevenson
SF: Caron Butler, 2 Time Allstar
PF: Antawn Jamison, 2 Time Allstar
C: Darius Songaila / WOOD (Who's gonna start, y'all?)
Honorable Mention: Roger Mason, Jr., who is bench player of the day!
Or the Chicken Hawks?
PG: Mike Bibby
SG: Joe Johnson
SF: Marvin Williams
PF: Josh Smith
C: Al Horford
Honorable Mention: Near-Wizard (thank God we traded the pick for Antawn),
Josh Childress.
Matchup of the Night:
DeShawn Stevenson vs. Joe Johnson
So our No. 2 shut down LeBron (as good as anyone can), so can he do the same to this lights out shooter? If we want to win, he's going to have to, because this team is dangerous, and we don't need a 30 point spout by this dude.
X-Factor(s) for our Wizards:
Andray Blatche, Nick Young, and Roger Mason Jr. (And maybe Darius Songaila)
You really think that I'm going to change up our X-Factor when its shown up for three straight games? Nope, we need bench production so Caron and Antawn don't have to carry us. Go bench!
Can we make it quadrouplets?
--------------------------
I predict a Win, by double digits. Caron gets a low-scoring, near-triple double.

You're on a streak, dude. Hard to bet against your game-threads.
About the game, though.....
I'm expecting Bibby to have a very good game, assuming he can hit open jumpshots. I just don't trust AD's perimeter defense on him. Hope I'm wrong.
Stevenson plays Johnson pretty well (as he does most shooting guards). Joe may score 20-25 but it probably won't be done particularly efficiently.
One of Jamison or Butler will have a bad night considering Josh Smith will be checking them. But that means that one of Jamison or Butler should be able to make up for the other.
The X-factor, in my opinion, is Al Horford. If Haywood plays, Horford shouldn't be able to rebound as easily and get those inside chippies. But if Brendan sits this one out, Songaila won't be able to even think about containing a player so hell-bent on rebounding.
I think this will be a tougher game than we expect. Since we're at home, I'll give us a very slight advantage, but anything can happen.

Good luck guys, i was already a wiz fan, second to OTown of course, but DS stepping up to lebron like that has seriously got me rooting hard for the wiz. Keep winning, get that 5th seed and send the Cleveland Lebrons home in the 1st!!!

Thanks, but I hope our boys in blue and gold can keep it up. It'd be nice to get like an 8-10 game win streak, to distance ourselves from the 6ers. But for all we know, they could get hot, because they've been playing so well lately.
Kudos to Mo Cheeks for that little run.
I think we could really continue our mini-streak, though, because Gil could be back next game (after the Hawks) if he passes his MRI and doctor-tests.
Here's to hoping!
Go Wiz!

Expecting a tough game. Hawks are fighting for a playoff spot as the Wizards are.
Getting the Clippers game was big. Can't afford more losses to bad teams at home.

Win...
But I'm a little bit concerned about CB, he didn't seem ok last night....

The Wizards should stop the Hawks ridiculous amount of lob passes and slow down their transition game. It will lead to victory as their half court is mediocre.
Also, this is most likely the last game before Arenas returns so let's get a W and put us in an even better position for the up-coming playoff push we're hopefully about to make.

Yeah, I thought Caron looked like something was off. But we gotta play a good game. Atlanta always plays us tough, and now they have Mike Bibby.

we need Wood to play or Horford will dominate

Hey! We get ATL on ab2b, no excuse for not coming away with a W.
If BTH is not %100, I hope to see more of D-Mac because of his energy and rebounding.

Caron has a bad wrist. I think he hurt it during the Cavs game but its clear he's taking it very slow as to not injure his hip even more. He's moving at like 2 MPH out there.

Me too although this should be an easy win against a struggling team playing the second game of a b2b on the road.

Last time the Wizards beat the Clippers, they followed it up with a loss to the Knicks at home. Hopefully, the Wizards play with a sense of purpose this time around to extend their winning streak.

It's because Jamison has to guard someone with offensive talent. No hiding him this game. Same goes for gimpy Caron too. With no Haywood in there, I expect alot of points in the paint for the Hawks.
Josh Smith will go for a career high if Captain guards him. Guarantee it.

We are the walking wounded tonight. I hope EJ doesn't try to win with gimpy players. We need big games from Young, Blatche, & Mason to win.

Yeah.. blatche pretty much sucked on offense the last game and Jamison had to bail us out of the hole he dug is in. At least when BH misses it's on a post up play with a short rebound and we have time to get back. Blatche has a talent for spectacular turnovers that turn into fast breaks for the other team. And when he puts the ball on the floor he almost invariably charges or travels. When he plays like a center he's fine. It's just he's so weak that you can push him out from under the post, and then he has to either take a jumper or put the ball on the floor, so he's effectively useless.
