AJ because he made buckets when we needed them the most.

Jamison was good all game, particularly good in the second and third.

At the half he explained the importance of not taking the first shot and during the game he made efforts to get the ball inside.

The Captain was POTG.

I'd say Brendan and Caron were second and third, with AD a very close fourth. Daniels played Billups exceptionally well and would have been in my top three if he hadn't started slowly in the first half.

aj. he stayed aggressive instead of floating around taking jump shots all nite. i loved his game tonite. even played some decent defense

Yup. Definitely Jamison.

Honorable mention to AD who played excellent defense tonight.

AJ for sure. He hit the clutch shots to answer big buckets from Detroit down the line.

Caron in 2nd for being 99% back (does his new cut count as a percent?)

Yeah, I'm going with the general consensus.

1. AJ
2/ 2a. BTH (slightly over CB for setting the tone with a strong 1st Q).
3/ 2b. CB

Honorable mentions to AD and DS9.

Since I know Jamison is going to win, I might pick Song, but I know I'll end up picking the Jamester. Song, though, was aggressive and efficient tonight, so much so that I wanted him on the floor more than even wood or DeShawn.

Is it just me, or is our role players getting better as THIS SEASON progresses, as in top 10 in the league production. AD, DeShawn, Wood, Blatche, Mason Jr, and Song have all been giving quality minutes; and I feel as if our rooks are going to be good to when they learn the ropes, and yes, I mean all three of them.

I'm excited. We better retain Jamison and Gilberto this offseason, because we have a good deep team.

I thought Jamison's biggest quarter was the 3rd. He kept his calm despite the refs and kept making buckets when the Pistons went on their run.

Congratulations on the win. Antawn Jamisons having a career year. If Arenas comes back at 100% the Wiz could surprise a team in the playoffs.

o captain, my captain, yet again.

caron gets 2nd. that 3 to end the half was huge and his passing is just on another level right now. he even had a couple of "hockey assists" where he doesn't get credit but was the one that started the good ball movement.

i want to give third to songaila, but it has to be brendan. as usual, his counting stats fell off after the first quarter but his defense is just fantastic. when he aggressively helps out on the perimeter and gets back in time to cover, which he's been doing lately, it takes the other team so out of the flow. great job.

You know I like AJ's game but I have to go with the 'wood this time around. He supplied two key things you need to beat the Pistons: solid play down low (and Haywood really exposed their lack of a real center and the wiz consequently dominated the paint) and he managed to get inside 'sheed's head. Which makes the path to victory alot smoother. 'Wood is really acting like a savvy vet this year and I have to say I was impressed to see him solid in perimiter D, which I did not expect (I live in NYC and don't SEE many games). I knew about his defense in the paint but his perimeter/weakside help D was nearly perfect.

AJ is second for the many and accurate reasons given thus far.

Song is third for his general out-of-body play lately. Teams including the Pistons do not seem to have an answer for him.

Honorable mentions to CB3, AD, and DS2 (simply for the "Angry Prophet" look he's been sporting lately. That's got to be disconcerting.) All three have been been playing like men for as long as I can remember.

And it's the perfect answer to the whole "chosen one" BS. As if someone showed up claiming to be the messiah and St. Jerome said "Shut up b1tch! I h'aint see you walk on water lately" and slapped him silly.

These player of the game threads are almost impossible which is a huge complement to the team because we are playing team ball.

We all know we wouldn't be in these games without our el captains CB and AJ so they can get the POTG on almost every night. No Touch Juice, no win. Same with AJ and his pts and rebounds and touch play. I actually felt comfortable with AJ guarding Rasheed. He has gotten so much more tough on D this year.

I choose my POTG by selecting the player that did things that were key and more unusual to what we normally get night in and night out. The difference maker where we had the mismatch.

Tonight, the Player of the Game goes to Haywood and our coach for recognizing the only game plan that would beat DET was to go inside. We went inside to Haywood who not only got pts but got us attitude and it got Rasheed out of the game most the first half. Had we not done that, I am fully confident we would have lost.

1- Haywood and EJ
2-CB and AJ
3-AD and Songaila

I can't slice it any thinner then that. It's just how I see it.

Great team win including the coaching staff.

Team wins go to the coaching staff. Only fair they get the credit since they get all the blame when the team loses. Solid solid game plan, good substitutions, no emotional let-down in a potential Gilbert distraction, strictly bizness.

Jamison was great but I thought Haywood was the difference maker.
