The cross-over on John Salmons was "almost" even better than the dunk itself.

It's a long read but I hope you find it worth it. I'm going on a little ride about Caron Butler and where his stardom my go.
Dunk of the year for this team and CB.
Should make the top dunks of the NBA year. I'm sure someone will do that list when the year is over. We should be seeing this dunk more then just today. I'm certain of it. This should show up in the Wizards commercials by next game if we have a decent marketing department.
A dunk like that is going to make Tough Juice even more well known around the league both by raising is status among players as well as the fans. This wasn't just a dunk. This was an I'm back dunk and the kind of dunk that will make another level for CB. The playoffs are going. I expect great things from him and there is still time for great things from this team.
You know how the NBA likes to brand player. Well, Gil got branded nationally as well as the face of this team. I now we branded the big 3 but Gil got a lot individually.
Well, I think the league is going to take a closer look at ramping up CB exposure. Expect to see him in more commercials. He was in the top 10 for MVP before his injury. Well, it easy to forget but we aren't starting to see again how good he is.
The really interesting thing to watch ( the sub story of this team ) is going to be watching how Gil adjusts to sharing the mega stage with CB. I know he defaulted to saying CB and AJ are the leaders but GA has been the number one option on this team. He was the teams one true star.
I mean even as much as CB and GA dont have a problem shooting when they want, this was Gils team on the court and he got the mega show time exposure with the clutch as sec shots. Well, this is a different CB. Actually, AJ is going to get more attention also. 20 and 10's get you in the press. They don't just grow on trees.
What I've been saying is this. This is now and has been all year, CBs teams. An honestly, I would rather see it built around him. He is the perfect player/leader/face of the team.
6-7 230 all around player. FYI ( MJ and Kobe sized) He does it all and adjusts his game to give you anything that is needed. Someone that can posts triple doubles is a sign of an elite player. Plus, he has the look, the mature strong personality, the past, the change to what he is - The Story. He is the role model type the league would love to have as it's face. What a great story and how inspiring for Kids showing them how not to go down the wrong road but even if you do, you can turn it around. What I'm saying is " He is the complete package and a great one "
But when GA last played serious ball, this was mostly his team.
It will be interesting to see how GA adjust. CB will share it with him mostly without problem but GA will have to take a step back and allow room for CB because the league and the fans are going to anoint CB a mega star in Gil category of greater.
If there is room for them both to maximize their talents, that could be an amazing pairing of talent. But like situations like Kobe and Shaq, sometimes they don't stay together and it doesn't get worked out.
The first chapter of this will start to be lived out very shortly.

I hadn't put those 2 together but your a totally right.
DAME. SUPERMAN DUNK IN A GAME
Howard will be jealous. I bet a reporter asks him about it. He will probably joke and take some credit. This dunk could get a lot of press if they want to ride it.

I love TJ and the dunk...but it didn't even make top ten highlights from yesterday on ESPN. That same dunk happened at least twice last night. I think Deron Williams dunked on a 7 footer and Igudola gets one of those EVERY night.
Feels good to see one of our guys get one though.

I'm pretty sure the only reason it didn't was because the game ended later than they finish the sportscenter highlights. Atleast, I hope that is the case.

Loved the dunk and the bench reaction but yeah that crossover was ridiculous.
I've watched the clip about 20 times now and laugh every time at how Salmons shuffles left for 2 more steps after the crossover. It's as if he had no clue what just happened.

Don't get me wrong, it was a great dunk, but I don't even think it was TJ's best of the year. His dunk over Kendrick Perkins in Boston was nastier.
