The Boston Celtics @ the Washington Wizards - April 9, 2008

Post#1 » by DallasShalDune » Sun Apr 6, 2008 4:43 pm

The Boston Cel-pronounced kel-tics @ Our Washington Wizards!

Date: Wednesday, April 9th, 2008
Time: 7:00pm (EST)

Who is going to win??

Our 40-37 Boys in Blue
PG: Antonio "Coach I'm Hurtin'" Daniels
SG: DeShawn "I'm Going to Piss In Your Face" Stevenson
SF: Caron "I'm Going to Dunk on Yo Mutha" Butler, 2 Time All-star
PF: Cap. Antawn "Mutha Flippin'" Jamison, 2 Time All-Star
C: Brendan "Will I Show Up?" Haywood
Honorable Mention:
Gilbert "Nacho" Arenas Our best player is coming off the bench, so I can't picture not putting him in this spot. He'll be well rested, and excited about this opportunity. I hope he plays well, and see it happening!

or those 61-15 (2 of those losses coming from us) Clovers!

PG: R. Rondo
SG: R. Allen
SF: P. Pierce
PF: K. Garnett
C: K. Perkins

Honorable Mention:
L. Powe He punked the Bobcats, not that it's that hard to punk around the boys in Charlotte. We better watch out that he doesn't catch Haywood on a Brenda day, or we'll pay and give up 20 off of the bench.

Matchup of the Night:
DeShawn Stevenson v. Ray Allen
The greatest jump shooter in the game? Dammit! DeShawn better be on his A defensive game, or we're in trouble. This is the best team in the NBA, and unless we execute a perfect game (like we did twice earlier this year) Were in trouble. I bet Ray Allen and the rest of the team knows our weaknesses well, and will want some revenge.

Just talk about his mama, DeShawn!

X-Factor(s) for our Wizards:
Darius Songaila
He's been playing very well as of late. Let's see if he can keep it up and give us like 14 or 16 points off of the bench.

Games of the Day:
DET @ PHI on 4/9
MIL @ TOR on 4/9
NJN @ CLE on 4/9

Det will likely cream Philly, and the Bucks could pull off an upset against Toronto since the Raptors have been playing so poorly, but I can't see the Nets winning in Cleveland. We can still pray for the 4th seed, right?
--------------------------

I see us pulling this one out. You never vote against yourself though  . I say us by a small margin, because the Celtics will have played the Bucks the night before, and might be winded. Hell, they could even rest some of their players against us, which would be nice!

ESPN decided to pick this game up.

Good that ESPN picked it up. Can't wait to see Arenas come off the bench and light them up. We match up well with them and I would love to see them in the ECF or second round of the playoffs. Haywood has been on a tear lately.

Is Jamison going to be back for this game?

A lot of questions to be answered for this game.

Will Antawn play?
How effective will he be?
How many minutes will Gilbert log?
Will the Celtics' big 3 all be playing?
Will the rest help us or hurt us (health vs. rhythm)?

El Capitawn says he will play. No reason to doubt him.

I think I read a quote from Doc Rivers saying that this current rest they've been getting is it. Might not log heavy minutes, but they want to stay sharp going into the playoffs. We'll see.

I updated the topic, since Jamison said he's playing. If he's 70% or better, our chances to win this game increase dramatically.

I say we get our third in a row. We've played well against boston this year(oddly  ) and now that we have gil back and the celts resting their stars we have a great chance.

Go Wiz!!!

Big three will play but probably not too many minutes. So of course the zards will take them lightly and get blown out...
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

I'll be there too. Look for me, section 117, row V... 6'4" chiseled frame, kind of a cross between Brad Pitt and Sylvester Stallone.*

It will be interesting to see how Doc doles out the minutes... I'm guessing that it will depend on how the game is going... if the Wiz have a working margin in the middle of the fourth, I could see Doc throwing in the towel early. However, if the Celts are in a position to snatch one, I see them keeping unit #1 in there to work on stretch time execution.

*actually more like Fred Flintstone and George Karl.

Hopefully some of those folks have already switched to the Lakers since the Pau trade. Have to stay ahead of the curve.

He hasn't said anything to reporters since his return. Maybe this is the new, "serious" Gil.

I heard Chic Hernandez say it was a superstition thing. Hey, as long as he doesn't hurt himself again...fine by me. Maybe helikes a little mystery.

BTW, I like the the little snip of DeShawn's name. "I'm going to piss on yer face"...I dig that. Hopefully he pisses on Ray Allen's face.
