Cavs a lot of pathetic whiners evidence thread

Post#1 » by ZonkertheBrainless » Mon Apr 21, 2008 3:25 pm

From the wiz blog:

"LeBron is so strong, quick and athletic that when he drives, he gets hit all the time," Brown said. "That's something you hope the officials take a look at it. Teams like Washington are saying that they'll foul him. Don't wait and let it be a real, real hard foul and it gets out of hand and you have a scuffle on your hands. Make it a clean game."

"If he gets bumped, call it a foul," Brown said. "Don't call a bump or something else on Gilbert [Arenas] or somebody else, just because they're smaller but disregard it with LeBron because it doesn't dislodge him. Unless he gets absolutely clobbered, they are not going to call it."

Wah, wah, wah. And the cavs say we're a bunch of whiners. I hope LeBron gets has ass whupped tonite.

Boo Hoo, Cleveland people complain. This is going to be that kind of series...everyone's gonna play physical and it's gonna get pretty touchy where both sides jaw and complain.

Every second post on the cavs forum is about what a bunch of whiners we are because we won't shut up about LeBron's travel...

Well that's Mike Brown, that's nothing about the Cavs players whining.

In another thread I saw someone say that Gilbert gets tossed to the ground every foul, while Lebron gets bumped and gets a foul call. That's total BS. Lebron was on the ground left and right in game 1, especially in the first half. If he ever went to the basket, he was attacked.

I'm not saying "boo hoo, call more fouls when Lebron gets hacked." I understand, the playoffs should be more physical, and Lebron doesn't deserve any favorable calls. But Lebron was getting clobbered in game 1, it's not like they were calling tick-tack fouls on the Wizards.

I don't get why Lebron and Cavs are complaing... I was just reading the game preview on yahoo and it said how the Wizards are playing dirty against Lebron, He's the one who was throwing elbows and sh*t...

I agree Lebron was getting knocked around pretty good, especially in the first half. He shot a bunch of free throws too. Wiz should make sure that the hard fouls extend to the second half as well. If Lebron is going to the basket, he should be getting smacked.

Pathetic. Knock James on his ass, for real. We have too many nice guys on this team. Where's the Oak when you need him.

Don't despair. Next year, after EJ is long gone and we have hired Bill Laimbeer as new head coach, things will be quite different.

In this case, whining = smart. Phil Jackson plays this game with the refs via the press almost every offseason. And it usually helps his team and star player.

There's far too much worrying and complaining about LeBron and the refs. Whatever you want to say about him, he was simply awesome in quarters 2-4. And the Wizards played like total ass in the 4th.

If they'd like to win the series, even a game, there's no way the Wizards will do it playing like that down the stretch.

How are the Wizards going to keep fouling hard while keeping key players like Haywood out of foul trouble? The Wizards could actually use another big like Etan in this series. Maybe Dominic can step into the role as an enforcer.

Guards need to use their fouls too. Take swipes at the ball, but swing hard. Don't let Lebron get to the basket unmolested. I'm not suggesting just hacking the guy willy-nilly. But they need to make him work for his points.

LOL, does Mike Brown realize that LeBron took 14 mother f'n free throws in game one? How many more would he like? 20? 30?

LeBron was hit and knocked around a lot last game and guess what, it showed up in the free throw attempts. It's not like the officials aren't already looking at the player guarding LeBron with a magnifying glass as it is.

I agree. I wouldn't mind a couple minutes each quarter putting someone like DMac on him to hound him full court, deny him the ball so that he has to work just to get touches.

I keep thinking of this series like a boxing match... we need to land a ton of body blows on LeWhine (not literally, but figuratively in terms of wearing him down). We also need to think of ourselves as the challenger. No belt holder loses in a split decision... we need a knock out.

Short of kidnapping EJ there isn't a chance Sinbad is going to coach a team other than the Washington Wizards.

Agreed. The only thing I saw the Wizards do that was remotely close to dirty was Blatche hitting him in the face with his arm, and it sure looked to me like Blatche was going for the ball. If you think LeBron's elbow to Blatche's face was accidental, I have some real estate in Florida to sell you. Incidentally, I was impressed with Blatche keeping his composure when that happened (though, in retrospect, that was one time outright clocking LeBron would have been justified, and it just might have been worth the suspension . . .)
