Rallying Call (All Wizards fans come)
I cant sleep after tonights loss guys. I sit here thinking to myself saying our team could be done in 2 games after we had such great hopes for this team heading into the playoffs. Then I think to myself, this could be the last time few times we see a lot of this squad together, this could be the ending of what we saw beggining 4-5 years ago, bringing some respectability back to D.C. in terms of NBA. We've hurt, we've put our hearts into, we've died, we had heart attacks with this team we, through thick and thin. Its been a real tough series things not going as planned, its hard I know. But lets not give up on our boys for good or worse, we've suffered right through all the injuries right their with them, all the last second shots, all the tough rebounds. This might be the last times we see Jamison and Arenas in Wiz uniforms, threw all the bad , we've had great times with them and I thank them for everything they have given us over the years Hey maybe we get swept but Im with this team to the damn end if were down 3-0 in the series and down 15 points into the fourth I still have hope. Lets not forget guys a series doesn't start till somone losses at were going home and things could turn around quickly. Yeah Lebron has been crushing us, but every single one of us know this team can play a whole lot better, maybe they wont, but they sure damn well have a good chance of it. GIve up on this team if you want to, but I dont want to. Im not sugar coating it for anybody, were in a tough spot with our back against the walls, but were not done yet, crazier things have happened. Maybe Im a homer, maybe Im a sucker, who knows, I know one thing Im a with this team too the end of the end. Lets go put this back to 2-2 we can f*ckin do it...

I still know the wiz can win this series the home court is going to rejuvenate us. Wiz are not a team of quitters we are going to make Cleveland pay dearly in this series Win or Lose its going to come down to the wire. Gil and twan will be back next year either way as well and we will build from the pieces we have, Blatche taking a leap this offseason as will NY when he hits that weight room.

I'm about as hurt as anyone, right now here in my little country. I've learned to love this team so much (I started following the Wiz, because of AJ and our offense). Last game was just painful in my heart, and in my mind and I never thought we'd be down 2-0 at this time. BUT I just can't lose the faith I've got on this group of guys, just like GilArenas88 said. Maybe we get sweeped, but I really have had some great experiences listening to this team on the radio, and as a basketball coach I can tell you that this is a group of warriors. This team ain't gonna quit, so shouldn't we. We've got to cheer for this guys, no matter what, and we're gonna be 2-2 by the end of the week. Lets keep it up, don't lose your faith!!

Haven't the Caps showed you guys anything? Being down 0-2 and going home for 2 games is a hell of a lot better than being down 3-1. The real issue is Gilbert's writst, and Haywoods potential suspension. I don't understand the controversy, that was a cheap shot that could have really hurt Labron.
With that said last night was as bad as it gets outside of being a lottery lifer. It was an embarrassment. DeShawn Stevenson is a punk, plain and simple. Right now my least favorite pro athlete in the world.

Can't even compare. Capitals have the Kobe Bryant of the NHL. Capitals have a head coach who can make adjustments and force the other team to play the Caps style of hockey. Most of all, the Caps head coach has the balls to sit down one of his young stars in favor of players who can help more, see Fedorov being moved to the first line for young Backstrom.
Plus in hockey, coming back 3-1 isn't that hard, especially against a team like the Flyers who has had a history of choking away big leads in the playoffs.

I haven't given up on them, which is why this morning I still feel like I got kicked square in the balls. I was a fan well before our old threesome of CWeb, Juwan, and Strickland led us to the playoffs and Jordan dubbed us the "team of the future", and then sufferred through another decade of watching them lose. These past 4 years or so have been my favorite by far, and winning aside, this may go down as my favorite group of guys the team's ever had. But the reason we get so PO'd like this when they lose is simply because we hate losing and wanna see the boys win. Doesnt mean we dont' support them, and I hope the Verizon Center is off the chain with support this weekend!! Can you say 2-2?

I believe that we can tie this series up.
But what I don't believe is that EJ can
or will make the necessary adjustments.
This next game is our season and EJ
better fire all of his bullets. Plenty of
Nick Young,Blatche,McGuire etc.

The next game is the season, and possibly Gil/Antawn's future. If I'm Gil, I don't know that I opt out, as for Antawn I can't help but wonder if he will just try to go to a top 3 contender to get a title.
WITH ALL OF THAT SAID--don't forget the Bulls series of a few years back, everyone wrote the Wiz off then just like they're doing now.

I'm wit'cha Wes, Gil's already said he'd take a pay cut so Antawn could get paid and stay, and regardless of whether he'd actually do it he obviously values playing with him. If Antawn goes elsewhere to contribute and win a ship, Gil's cannon could get even more loose, and who knows what he'll do.
And I remember that Chi-town series all too well. We need a some of that mojo back, the swag of an underdog, and thanks to the way we've played, that's us again

As a team they did quit.
The coach did man up and say he couldn't keep them disciplined and that Cleveland's coaches could.
While I think they play like a heartless bunch of shotjackers, I think EJ is a classy person. I would like for him to distance himself from Gil's and DeShawn's comments before the season's over. I would also like for him to try and restore the dignity of the Wizards by coaching them up, but easing off the rough play that's not working anyway.
Last, I'd like for him to stand up for Haywood. It was a cheap foul but at the guy was just trying to do what the coach asked, which is be physical with Lebron. He didn't try to injure him and I'd like EJ to be the one to say that.
Jamison and Caron deserve better than to be lumped in with the media's portrayal of the Wizards as a thuggish team of playoff losers.
I'll jump right back on board if they win the next 2, but that's highly doubtful IMO.
Right now, they're losers until the coach gets a better strategy and until Gilbert stops talking and starts playing exceptionally well.

Someone needs to start an "Amazingly Sucky(TM) DS2 Can't Feel The Playoffs" thread. It worked wonders for Juan in the Bulls series back in 05. Maybe that'll restore some of the mojo.

I still love this team, and I still want to see Arenas, Butler, and Jamison in Wizards uniforms next year. But right now I'm demoralized. If Haywood gets suspended, I'll be utterly disgusted.
I don't know whether or not we have what it takes to come back in this series, but I'm not giving up on the team. The Cavs are something like 3-9 on the road since the trade. We need to take advantage of the change of venue. Part of that has to be reducing the hard fouls. This bruising style of play plays to Cleveland's strengths. We have a chance of getting more calls at home, but that potential will be negated if we continue to be perceived as thuggish. Try to take some charges. Try to alter or block some shots. Be aggressive at the other end, while setting our picks and running our offense. Change the narrative. Change the tone. Win at home, and then go back to Cleveland as the finesse team playing finesse ball and we just might be able to win this series.

Excellent post!
I say suck up to the media and apologize to Lebron.
Then, at home go total finesse. Flop like a fish (my kids watch Sponge Bob.

Get Varajeo off the court with fouls and Big Z, too. Try to fall whenever Lebron steamrolls by. Make him a jump shooter.
ONLY THIS TIME, when the Wizards have the lead do get physical late in the game!
Think and be full of guile. Make the Cavs think it's over and just be waiting for them to get too confident.
