Gil's Gone For The Season

Gil was just interviewed on Comcast and he(with the
trainers input) has decided to shut it down for the
season. He said that he wanted to help the team
but that he was just "out there"...not being himself.
This was a good decision. See you next year Gil.

He's been a shell of himself. Props to him for trying to gut it out but probably the best decision.
And I for one hope like hell we haven't seen him for the last time in a Wiz uniform.

Damn it, not right beforet the game that sends the wrong signal. Just go in for 5 minutes so the threat of you is still there.

...and we still won't see 1min of Nick Young. God!! There's no words to describe how much I despise Eddie MF Jordan.

Failed expirement but you can't blame anyone on this. Everyone was under the assumption that adding Gil would only make us better, injured or not.

Good move on Gil's part.
Don't sacrifice your career for what looks like a hopeless series to begin with.
If only that behind-the-back bank shot in game 4 could be my last memory of him this season.

I wonder what would have happened if he'd just done that in March instead of insisting on trying to come back. The team could have just gone with the rotation that got them the 5th seed. Heck, we might have beaten teams like Milwaukee and ended up with the 4th seed. There wouldn't have been as much trash talking, either, with Gil not playing.
What could have been...

I don't see what the point of playing Antonio Daniels is. He's god awful right now. He reminds me a lot of Eric Snow.
Why not try a radical change in trying Nick Young a little bit off the bench and starting Roger Mason Jr.? or you could start Nick Young, have Caron handle the rock in the half court RMJ can come in off the bench handling the rock some.
Daniels is playing 20minutes per game and I fail to see what positives he brings during those 20 minutes.

Actually, Daniels hasn't been bad the last two games. He was awful in the first two games though.

Gil making the decision concerns me. I would think this would ordinarily be the team's decision.

I'm not opposed to your suggestions. Unfortunately,
Eddie Jordan has demonstrated an immense amount
of stubborness.

On Comcast it was reported that Gil made the decision
along with the doctors.

If Eddie Jordan is finding out at the same time the reporters are that represents how dysfunctional things are in Washington right now. The Wizards might need to part ways with Arenas. That's not how you want your star player acting and no matter who the coach is Arenas is going to be Arenas just like Chad Johnson is going to be Chad Johnson.

This is the right decision. I just question why he didn't tell his coach first.
I actually think the Wiz will play better without him as everyone was having problems melding him in. Now, we can just play ball. (please note that I am not suggesting we are better off without Gil, just that we are better off without an injured Gil trying to fit in).

It was just a day or two ago that Gil was saying the team could still take the series and then minutes before game time he throws in the towel.
