THE QUEEN IS DEAD!!!

LeTravel is out of the playoffs!

I know the mods will lock this, but can us frustrated Wizards fans enjoy this moment, if for only a little while?

Did you see him run off the court like a crybaby? He should at least have the decency to congratulate the winning team like a real man.

He may be on the verge of being among the top few ever, but he is already there as the most annoying ego ever. I'm glad Cleveland's done. Too bad it wasn't in a sweep.

I don't know, I hate what he did to our team.......but he wowed me today. Refs called a very fair game, and he dominated even more and adjusted to not getting calls.

Happy he's done too, but what a game....

The best thing was watching him choke. Completely washed out every good thing he did early in the game.

what a chokejob

I'm happy he's gone as well but I find it hard to
make fun of someone who has beaten us
three years in a row.

Frankly, it makes us look like idiots. :nonono:

Why? As far as I know, neither we or the Cavs have won a championship so its fair game.

Exactly, I want to beat the guy.....but he's a ridiculous force. Our board claims to be the most intelligent board on RealGM, but the way we've acted regarding this guy has been pretty foolish.

Does he travel a lot? Yep. Does he get some calls? Yep. Has Cleveland beaten us three years in a row? Yes. We don't want to act like my childhood Knick fans who used to call Jordan a bum when he beat the Knicks year after year. Declaring a player a bum, "overrated", "crybaby" etc purely because they crush your team for years is foolish.

Heat fans were also guilty of this in the late 90s when the Knicks continued to oust them in the first or second round. Grow up guys, LeBron James proved himself, today particularly, as one of three guys in the league who can carry a team by himself. Duncan, Bryant and James.

If you come up with various conspiracy theories about it, bravo, but he's that good. 45/6/5 in a game 7? Can't cry about free throws, because Pierce got his too.

I DON'T LIKE THE GUY AS A PERSON. But as a player, today he wowed me. Maybe it's my childhood annoyance over the Knicks fans/Jordan thing but I'm not going to be that idiot.

Nice post. I agree completely.

I can't stand Lebron's whiny attitude and I hate the way the league lets him travel so much, but I certainly respect his talent. The guy is an absolute stud on the basketball court. He can do it all. I was most impressed by his defense in the 4th quarter. He was everywhere.

Am I the only one who wanted to see LeBron and the Cavs advance? I dislike the Celtics even more than I do the Cavs. If we want to talk about being overrated, let's talk about how the Celtics, the supposed favorite to win the championship, and how they've already been pushed to the brink twice. Don't talk about someone who has repeatedly knocked us out of the playoffs and puts his team on his back every game.

I've always laughed at Jordan comparisons, but his defense on the one play I'm sure is lingering in your mind Nate is the steal against Pierce which led to the dunk. His defensive stance/intensity reminded me very much of Jordan.

Really not a comparison, but MJ was the one guy in my lifetime I've seen who played with equal dominant intensity on both offense/defense. If LeBron plays D like that consistently? Watch out.

That being said, he did lose.....and I'm happy he's gone just so I don't have to hear the media OVERhype him. Let's get on to Lakers/Celtics (I would really love that!).

Yup. He's on-the-ball defense is terrific when he gets down low in that stance. The other thing that struck me was his sheer speed and acceleration after he made the steal. James Posey was on the far side of the court and had the angle and a good head of steam. Lebron had to start from a standstill and control the ball yet he so totally outran Posey that Posey couldn't even get there in time to foul him.

It's completely ridiculous how freakishly athletic Lebron is.

As a person who appreciates the game of basketball, I would have been disappointed if LeBron and his "team" made it back to the conference finals. As a team, they are excellent rebounders and decent defenders. That's about it. They are completely unbalanced on offense and are mostly a collection of role players who have bounced around the league and at times can look awful.

I don't know what it says about the quality of the game, but I'm glad that Rebounding + LeBron + some defense = not quite enough.
