The Wizboard "Furious Forty-Five"- The Fire EFJ Movement!

Post#1 » by Dat2U » Wed May 21, 2008 8:23 am

I honestly think there's alot more than five posters on this board that would like to see Eddie Jordan replaced as coach of the Wizards.

I ask all that support a coaching change, stand up and let their collective voices be heard in this thread so that you may be officially counted and added in totality along with your fellow Wizboard brethren.

There's strength in numbers. Lets show that in actuality, the Wizboard Five is more like the Wizboard Twenty Five!

EDIT: Added a poll due to recent threads.

Well, you've got Rico and JWiz. I think Gilbert0Arenas is a member too.

Aye yay, Cap'n.

We've been hovering around .500 ball + have gotten knocked out of the first round three consecutive seasons by the SAME time.

How could it NOT be time for a coaching change???????

These guys keep sticking up for EJ because he's a "player's coach" + doesn't hurt their massively inflated egos. They play a little ball, collect a paycheck and everything's "golden."

They need to be PUSHED. They've hit a wall + need a coach who's going to help them plow through it.

Washington should get rid of all ineffective assistants, change the way they defend, change the communication that takes place between coach and assistants during game planning and in realtime during games, get a defensive PG, and a brute who can finish at PF.

Do that before firing EJ and it might make EJ a great coach.

I'm more passively against EJ than actively against EJ, but I'm against EJ just the same.

I too have questioned EJ's decision making from time to time. Count me in.

My advice to the infamous Wizboard 5 - a little perspective would help. If the Zards had an Association average coach for the last several years, you'd (and I'd) be screaming to get a coach the quality of Eddie Jordan. Look around the Association.

I have no doubt there are well more than five who meet the above criteria. Furious five is more of an ironic statement considering there are far fewer of who consistently show up to take the opposing view. But in terms of true stalwart staunch dedicated 'Bad' fans (that is, those who think the coach is 'Bad' and go out of their way to make it known, ad nauseum) I'd say there are fewer. Roster of the 'Bad' would include:

--Rico: Natch. Though he owns up to having been an amazingly whiny internet bastid. As are we all my brother.
--JWiz: likes a good shat-fest.
--Dat: Also hates our GM. And has been on the anti-EJ wagon since he failed to develop a former manchild #1 pick who remains nameless. Says nice things about Gilbert though.
--closg00: C-Los is One of the o-rignal Wizboard five, IIRC.
--Gilbert0Arenas: reflex doom and gloom addict. Mostly can't stand the coach because it makes him look bad if the team manages to pull out a win after G0A spent the first quarter + decrying how doomed we are. Positively dooomed!!! ooops, uh, we won, please don't quote whatever I said thanks.
--and you can prob'ly count ji here too though I don't rightly recall him saying it's ever the coaches fault that we're similarly doomed, just that we're the Wizards so naturally we're doomed one way or the other.

I'm probably missing a couple more. But there are a ton of me-too artist you never see except to chime in when someone else posts a well-worded argument. And if they aren't memorable enough to be mentioned, well how then can they live in infamy?

And originally seems like miller31time was claiming allegiance, but changed his mind this year and is willing to suspend disbelief. Nate was a diehard doubter, who similarly pressed the pause button on his open distrust of the coach.

To tilt the balance I like my company on the Legion of the 'Good' which if i recall is at least something like this:

Zards
Spence
SecretKev
ed wood
doc
fishercob
donkey
BanndnDC
I'm sure I'm missing a regular poster here...
plus
Caron Butler
Antawn Jamison
Antonio Daniels
and any scout, coach, player, analyst or reporter ever quoted with the possible exception of the redoubtable and excellent curmudgeon Charlie Rosen who likes to get a good crank on.

And we'll even take CCJ 100% of the time, knowing he's just a creature of powerful emotion and enthusiasm but he's never hoped the coach would fail just for gloating purposes.

The 'Good' folks would probably all agree, there are better coaches in basketballdom, sure, but this guy is a good fit for this team and has been doing a solid job in some pretty tough circumstances and in all likelihood we haven't yet seen this team perform even as well as it ultimately will. There's room for improvement, but even when the bottom falls out we stay afloat and keep fighting. Which is due a certain respect.

So the outmanned and outnumbered Furious Five now has its own thread. A recruitment tool for a lost cause.

I'm sure more weak-hearted soldiers will be joining the ranks of the Furious Five, and the dark and negative side of the continent that they represent.

Those of us who back EJ don't need no stinkin' recruitment thread. Yes, we see EF's flaws and warts, but we also see his strengths and believe that they outweigh his weaknesses.

So let the Furious Five grow their ranks of frustrated wannabe NBA coaches. Those of us on the "good side" will continue to thrive in the bright and uplifting light of optimism and support for Abe, EJ, EG, CB,GA, AJ and the rest of our beloved Zards.

7 members and counting, our numbers are strong  When the roll-call has been wrapped-up, we can officially change our banner.

Why the Wiz-Board 7+ want a coaching change:

* League-worst 3pt% allowed, and poor defense in-general after 5 years
* Playing in-effective & injured players extended minutes repeatedly
* Failure to make in-game adjustments in a timely fashion
* Love of small-ball (allows teams to go to larger lineups w/o adjustments)
* Failure to develop or use rookies
* Uncreative with lineup, when a starter is playing poorly
* Poor closer in the 4th quarter when team is leading
* Doesn't discipline players (Gilbert DeShawn)
* Poor end of quarter coach (Rarely calls plays)

Did I miss any reasons Wiz-Board members? :)

EJ supporters remind me of the Donald Rumsfeld supporters, and Donald Rumsfeld himself. Rumsfeld was delusional for years and thought that everything was going fine in the war in Iraq and that nothing needed to change - just more of the same and everything would be fine. :noway:

WizBoard member reporting. This team is doomed as long as EFJ is the coach.

I don't give a **** if we beat Boston three teams. We lost to Charlotte, Milwauki, Memphis and Indiana. Please can his ass already. Mediocre, inconsistent and no balls to call out his team = Eddie Jordan.

Yet another mis-application of facts (but what else is new from the EJ fanboys). This is not a recruiting thread and it was not even started by one of the Five. So seeing how a number of the anti-EJ threads that we post in originate outside of the Five, I think ti speaks well to the growing number of fans who agree with us.

So far we've got:

closg00
bgroban
JWizmentality
LyricalRico
MJG
Soup's Uncle
Gilbert0Arenas
tkunit
Dat2U

So we've currently got a Wizboard Nine

I know there's alot more out there. Qtipp7790 are you in or out? I can't quite tell by your answer.

Where are my lurkers at? Make your presence known.

All you need to be a part of the Wizboard collective is to be an impassioned Wizard fan who refuses to settle for mediocrity, has grown tired of the same mistakes made over & over again and the pathetic excuses that are consistently given year after year for the "Supersmart" Eddie Jordan.

That's who it is! There was a long stretch when we didn't see any Cramer posts at all, but yes, a steady bloody-knuckled defender of the Good. Right.
There's a couple more too.

I think Ruzious has been a level headed voice in the hoopla. I forget where folks like severn and dobrojim stand but both chime in on the topic and I don't recall a ton of spit-flecked hate in the conversation.
