How much will Arenas be making after this off-season?

As a non-Wizards fan, I'm curious. I doubt after this season he'll get the max, but how much will he get?

Thanks.

Not the max, the team has not ventured outside the 1st round and it's obvious that as long as LeBron is around, the Wiz aren't moving anywhere. This team is stuck in the worst place possible, no lottery possibilities and just teasing fans at being subpar, pretty good at best each season. Why spend all the cap money to keep our "big 3" intact when it's obviously not working well.

I applaud his effort this last post season, but it's gonna take a lot more from Gil to convince me that he's still a franchise player. I'd love to see him take far less than he's worth to try and get another star player on board, however very unlikely.

I certainly hope Gilbert doesn't get a max contract from us, especially since a full recovery remains to be seen/proven. I'd rather use that money (and less of it) to sign a good PG Calderon perhaps.

Ok, knowing that, would you, as Wizards fans, be in favour of trading Gil for Calderon/Bargnani/Moon kind of thing?

and I don't think that gil will get a max deal.

1. He said he'd take a paycut to keep Antawn
2. He just said that he won't be 100% until October- which means his knee still has a chance of never being the same

and also,I am not at all interested in that trade offer. I like Moon, he's exciting and all, but he's no Butler, and I would take an 85% Gil over a 100% Calderon.

hands11, it's the off-season and threads/posting drops off. These kinds of threads will be locked during the season or near the start of the season, but not now. In the future, if you have a problem, please use the PM system instead.

Would I do it? Maybe. Will EG? Very doubtful. I think the general consensus is you need one legit star/MVP type player and about 2 borderline All-Stars to get yourself a 'ship. After that trade we'd have no more potential All-Stars than we have now, and be minus Arenas. We'd just have more "pieces". So nevermind the maybe. No thanks.

Ernie Grunfeld should try his best to sign and trade Gil. Maybe he can work a trade with the Bulls or see if he can get Baron Davis and send Gil back to the Warriors,.. I don't know,... but I don't think you're going to win Sheit with Gilbet's looney a$$.

Well Shaq has never come across as much short of a looney. For example, he is:

silly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKhP3PnB_xM

ready to give his opinion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcHQexCFJWM&feature=related

straight up crazy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-BoeBedZ3k&feature=related

and dumb enough to launch a rap career with classic lines like:

I got the hand that will rock the cradle/ Cream you like cheese spread you on my bagel.

If that wasn't bad enough he got into beef with VA rap legend Skillz and got ruckus'd with this diss (HILARIOUS and worth listenin to if you haven't heard it):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgeFmmtFbnM

(in case I missed anything: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWqPnEGzfK8&feature=related)

BOTTOM LINE: none of the buffoonery or "looney" activity seemed to take away from him handling business on the court. He actually worked out pretty well if you ask me. I don't know why we should treat Gil any differently and assume his "looney" character will keep him from winning.
