Whatever. I don't pretend to be some CEO type and beat my chest about what is "acceptable" and what isn't in terms of this organization's progress.

First and foremost, I'm a fan. And I've been a fan of sports long enough to recognize when we as fans have something special. Gilbert is special. He's more fun to root for than anyone this city has seen in years and years, and it would be a great loss should he leave.

Like all human beings and all basketball players, Gil is imperfect. But I want him -- imperfections and all -- on my team.

Agreed, he revived bball in DC. Players like him don't come around every offseason.

I agree also, I just don't want the organization to be crippled by overpaying someone coming off of two knee surgeries.

I thik the majority of Wizards fans feel this way including me. I think we should do what it takes to get him back. If he's healthy, and as long as we have him on our team, we can beat anyone.

Gil, you forced our hand to get Jamison paid big. If you really care about winning in DC and the fans here that supported you and the young fans that looked up to you, you'll sign here and do it cheaply enough for the GM to build a winner. It's that simple.

I have a bad feeling fellas. I have a feeling he is gonna sign with Golden State. If he does, than Gilbert is not a man of his word.

I hope I am wrong, but I could see him saying "I'm a California guy, I have a chance for a max contract in my hometown. I had to take it."

I'm not worried about Sacramento...the Maloof brothers are (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Gilbert is not worth a max contract. If he stays, this has the potential to be Juwan Howard part two.

He should be back. I almost forgot how exciting it is to watch him play.

lol it will be so exciting when we still can't get out of the first round and we're stuck with him and his fat ass deal for the next half decade. not to sound like ji, but we're done if he signs max.

Here's my weird reasoning:

1.) If he was going to sign with the Wiz, he would have signed the contract before going to China. He's gonna go over to China and decide that he wants to be in Cali...UGH!

2.) What's he gonna talk to Abe Pollin about? "Thanks for believing in me Abe, but I gotta go back home."

They played more like a team without him.

I have reservations about his knee holding up after 2 surgeries, because I wonder about his explosiveness long term. I'm more nervous about the Wizards committing $110 to 124M to a guy with potentially bad wheels.

He's not a good defender.

He forces shots, often leading to the other team executing fast breaks.

For these reasons, I'm not begging him to stay. Him being a west coast guy, I bet he doesn't stay.

With Baron Davis opting out of his contract, apparently the Warriors can offer 5 yrs at 100 mil. The only bright side is word is Baron could land with the Clippers, so apparently they won't go after Gil.

Apparently after the Warriors approached with that offer, EG went to Gil with the full 124 mil. But I guess they are still talking about doing less to help the team. Last I heard, he was mulling over the 3 options...
