Caron Butler's Value

Post#1 » by JordanL » Wed Aug 27, 2008 8:26 pm

Hey, I'm a Portland fan. Obviously, I don't think Portland and Washington are great trading partners, however with the big contracts given to other players on the Wizards, I am curious what kind of value you guys place on Butler.

What package from Portland (again, not looking for a trade but for approximate value) would you guys consider "good" for Caron Butler?

I'd consider something like Aldridge+Outlaw for Butler+filler, but I'm sure Portland wouldn't do it.

We wouldn't trade Caron for LeBron. He's that good. He's that important. He's the team's heart & soul.

To address this specifically, if Washington is trading one of their Big 3, we're expecting one of Portland's Big Three.

And this is why we're not good trading partners -- Portland will not want to give up one of their big three for one of ours.

Would have to be something involving Aldridge. I don't think Portland would be bad trading partners with anybody in the league. You guys are loaded!! You got frikkin Rudy Fernandez coming off the bench. Butler is extremely valuable, but all you have to do is take a stroll through our trade thread to see that most here don't value him for $h!t!!

God Bless EG.

I'd trade Caron for maybe a handful of players in the league...that's it. Or if it were a real sweet deal.

Say if the Wizards don't make the play offs or exit in the first round, Jamison and Butler are aging. Would you consider a semi rebuild? The Raptors would be interested in Butler.

If that happens, I call for a total overhaul. If not, I will personally lead the charge on Ernie Grunfeld's office to hang him by his toenails!

And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Caron Butler's value is through the roof. He's untouchable with how far his game has come and his contract is very reasonable.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Obviously I'm not trying to lower anyone's value, but how interested would you guys be in a true defensive center like Przybilla? I'd think that if you guys were looking for an Aldridge + Filler it would be Aldridge + Przy.

We already have a defensive center, and a good one, who's much better offensively than Pryzbilla is.

I'd defintely want Aldridge and Webster at the least.

Ah, there I go showing my ignorance. :)

Righto, that would make more sense, especially since you'd want to replace the SF position that Butler held.
