He'll stink at the beginning of the year and then play decent in the second half.

Apparently he'll be playing with a broken wrist. Don't worry though...our medical staff is in a league of their own.

Start with his 06-07 stats. Then, knock off 10% for general aging, another 5% for his injury (can't remember the specifics, but the gist is that he'll be going into this season with a minor nagging injury that was not fixed this offseason), and another 15% for a reduction in minutes. Not looking at the actual numbers, so that may be a smidge harsh, but probably not that far off.

11th/12th round of a 16 team draft is pretty slim pickings, so he may still be worth it there. Tough to say for sure without knowing the available crop. If I went purely off gut though, I'd say there are probably at least one or two better choices out there. Unless assist/turnover ratio is a category for you; he'll clean up there.

Darrell Armstrong, Chucky Atkins, Marcus Banks, Jerryd Bayless, Sam Cassell, Mario Chalmers
Speedy Claxton, Antonio Daniels, Keyon Dooling, Steve Francis, Lindsey Hunter, Jarrett Jack
Bobby Jackson, Mike James, Anthony Johnson, Damon Jones , Brevin Knight, Shaun Livingston
Tyronn Lue, Stephon Marbury, Roger Mason, Smush Parker, Eric Snow, Damon Stoudamire
Jacque Vaughn, Jason Williams, Tony Allen, Brent Barry, Travis Diener, Juan Dixon
Chris Douglas-Roberts, Jordan Farmar, Daniel Gibson, J.R. Giddens, Luther Head

I agree there could be some better than Daniels but I knew at one point last year he was doing pretty good, but wasnt sure what was going to happen to him when Arenas was healthy... Anyways this is a list of PG/G left to pick from any help would be nice... Assist and TO are categories in this league

My PG/SG/G slots right now are Baron Davis, OJ Mayo, Mike Conley, Mike Miller, Stephen Jackson

Isn't Roger Mason starting for the Spurs??

Daniels would've been a decent pick last year, but no way he's playing 30 MPG this season with Arenas back He'll be lucky to crack 20 MPG.

From that list, I'd take Louis Williams. Jack would be alright too. Bayless is probably a good risk; you never know with rookies, but it's not like you'd be using a high pick.

Yep. MJG, Lou Williams is improving and will score a lot and hit threes.

Bayless looked fantastic in summer league but still will have to compete for minutes early on.

I think Mason, as JWiz mentioned, might surprise with the Spurs. He's very good on threes.

Bayless will have to battle for minutes. He will put up points when in there (and probably, turnovers). Defense is iffy I think, so McMillain may keep him benched.

Chalmers will probably be a starter at some point this year. He's got frontcourt scorers and can hit the kick-out three that DWade excels at delivering. His man-on defense is a notch slow (so maybe he doesn't get minutes with the rookie coach) but it's not like they have many alternatives and he doesn't turn the ball over much. Plus he will prey on passing lanes with those surprisingly long arms adding points in a steals category. Safe bet.

Farmar does not play behind Kobe (Vujacich does) he makes few mistakes on a team that has finishers. Derek Fisher is 88years old. And Kobe has an increased appreciation for sharing the ball. Good gamble.

Sweet Lou Williams is coming on strong. Defense is questionable but that team needs his outside shooting. Solid pick.

Daniels will get some minutes but doesn't start and doesn't play as well next to Gil as he does without him. Defers to Captain Quirk when on-court. When healthy Gil would prefer to play 50+ minutes per game and hit the last shot in overtime. Not your best first choice.

As a 3rd PG you're looking for a longshot gamble who may surprise:

I'd go:
Farmar
Vujacich (gambling on Kobe's health)
Lou Williams
Chalmers

Now with Arenas' injury I guess Daniels will be a very decent pick up as a starter

Aye, he's probably serviceable. Not quite as good as last year (his nagging injury + additional year of age still take a slight toll), but still somewhat worthwhile.
