Post#1 » by miller31time » Sat Sep 13, 2008 4:58 am

Just noticed that washingtonwizards.com recently posted the games CSN will be covering this season.

CSN to Air 74 Games And a Record-Setting 49 Games in High Definition;
All 82 Regular Season Games, Three Preseason Games Will be Televised

The Washington Wizards and Comcast SportsNet released their 2008-09 television broadcast schedule today. The schedule features all 82 regular season games plus three preseason games, including 63 on Comcast SportsNet, 11 on CSN+, six on CW50 and 21 national television appearances.

“Comcast SportsNet enters the 2008-09 NBA season with a lineup of Washington Wizards live games and original programming that will truly excite all sports fans,” said Rebecca Schulte, senior vice president and general manager of Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. “As the Washington Wizards look to make their fifth straight playoff appearance, fans can turn to Comcast SportsNet all season to see a record number of live game broadcasts in high definition along with a great team of expert analysts and comprehensive postgame shows after each matchup.”

Comcast SportsNet will broadcast 60 regular season games beginning with the opener vs. New Jersey on Oct. 29, with 49 games broadcast in high definition (including all home game broadcasts and 16 road game broadcasts). The network will also produce 11 games to air on CSN+ (a full channel listing is available at www.comcastsportsnet.tv) and six games that will air on CW50. Additionally, Comcast SportsNet will televise three preseason games: Oct. 7 at Dallas, Oct. 22 at San Antonio and Oct. 24 at Cleveland (which will also be televised by ESPN).

The Emmy Award-winning Steve Buckhantz returns for his 12th season as play-by-play commentator for local Wizards broadcasts, while former Bullets great Phil Chenier is back to provide his 24th season of color analysis.

"We’re thrilled to team with Comcast SportsNet to provide our fans with complete coverage of the Wizards’ 82-game schedule,” said Wizards Executive Vice President Matt Williams. “Along with our significant presence among the NBA’s national television partners and the added bonus of three televised preseason games, the excitement of Wizards basketball will be on display both locally and around the country throughout the upcoming season.”

The Wizards are scheduled to appear on national television 21 times during the 2008-09 season, including games on both Thanksgiving (Nov. 27 vs. Orlando, 8:00 on TNT) and Christmas (Dec. 25 at Cleveland, 8:00 on TNT). In total, the Wizards will appear on ESPN six times (a preseason game on Oct. 24 at Cleveland, Nov. 12 vs. Utah, Nov. 21 vs. Houston, Feb. 6 vs. Denver and April 8 at Cleveland), ESPN2 once (April 10 at Toronto), TNT five times (Nov. 27 vs. Orlando, Dec. 11 vs. Boston, Dec. 25 at Cleveland, Jan 22 at L.A. Looking at the schedule here, it looks like every game is televised to me, whether it's on CSN, CSN+, CW, NBATV, ESPN, ESPN2, or TNT. For example, that game at Memphis is on CW, and the one against Utah is on CSN+.

Hmm, that's odd. We'll have to go with the actual article, though. I'll edit the initial post.

Very strange that the schedule list isn't updated, though.
