At least we aren't trying to resign Donnell Taylor.

But really, not a bad pickup. He's a poor (who am I kidding....homeless) man's RMJ but he knows the system and can play both guard positions (though he's not a natural point by any stretch of the imagination).
Not bad.

I initially stickied this, but since it isn't official, I'll un-sticky it.
If/when this happens, the topic will be re-stickied.

In and of itself, signing Juan Dixon for the minimum is a good move for any team. He's a perfect 11-15th man type. I actually think Dixon is more offensively talented than Roger Mason. The problem is that Mason was okay with being a spot up shooter. Juan just can't seem to kick that "first option" mentality. Mason is also superior when it comes to size, defense, and ball handling - all of the things we need out of our backup PG. Still, Juan was on my short list of signings I wanted GMEG to consider.
But seeing how there's not much demand for Juan out there, I wouldn't commit to him just yet. If a guy like DJ Strawberry who can legitimately play both backcourt positions comes available I don't want us to be hamstrung. If I'm not mistaken, Phoenix has until the end of the month to make a decision. I say wait until then. Juan should still be there.

Strawberry was traded to Houston in August.

Wait to see what happens with DJ before offering Juan a contract, but Juan would have the obvious inside-track to a min contract.

Eh, I'm kind of against this.
We already have a bigger version of Juan Dixon in Nick Young. Dixon will only take his minutes. I'd much prefer somebody with a defensive mindset.

I definitely like the idea of Juan Dixon coming back; I always liked him with the team, being a hometown boy and all. Sure, he won't make up for the loss of Arenas, but I don't think it'd hurt to add him to the roster.

Dixon isn't what I'd call good, but I'm more comfortable with him than I am with Brown, so I'm fine with bringing him in for the minimum.

If he does sign we need to resurrect/ re-create (and sticky) the "Amazingly Sucky Juan Dixon Thread" so that he drops 35 PPG on the regular.

i think juan dixon is a good shooter he give us a other option off the bench 2 go 2 he can help are bench out a lil bit come in give us a few solid mins knock a few 3ss in a few years ago he was are bench in the playoff vs heat he score 30 point in 1 playoff game doesnt hurt 2 have a other shooter in the playoff so i wouent mind if we sign juan dixon

We need someone like Juan to insert for Young when he gets yanked on-occasion. JD is unlikely to get many minutes.....but then-again, should EJ be trusted with another small-ball player?
I am still hoping we land the defensively minded DJ.
