This is a great opportunity to get to 55 wins--next year

Post#1 » by Ji » Thu Oct 9, 2008 2:54 am

This is the chance I have been looking for. We finish 25-57 this year...but Blatche,Young, and Pecherov really develop. We can bring Arenas back slowly...maybe Trade Etan after he gets off to a decent start and got possibly a top 3 lottery pick. That pick could take us from a 42-40 team to a 55 win team depending on who we get but its really our only chance to get a great player since we cant sign anyone.

We need to tank this season and I believe we will and come out roses next year and for years to come.

lol at the young guns on this team developing.

Haywood out = EFJ riding Etan, Songaila to death.

This is our chance to get out of his mediocrity and possibly get a superstar in the draft to go with a nice core. I think we will be the worst team in East and I couldnt be happier. Id rather go 25-57 and win the lottery then finish 41-41 and get bounced in the first.

Its a lose lose situation.

We tank = EFJ comes back on the basis of an injured roster

We have a mediocre first round exit = EFJ gets credit for taking an injured team to another mediocre crappy year.

This franchise is cemented in mediocrity.

at least the Redskins are worth watching. This is unbelievable. Is this team cursed or what?

Tanking sounds like a terrific idea. We'll all but assure ourselves of a franchise savior with a top pick that will guarantee us deep playoff runs and multiple championships for years to come.

For further proof, look no further than the Wiz's opponent tonight. The Griz went the tank route last year and all of their previous top lotto picks had nice stat lines in the heavy minutes they logged tonight. And they were actually pretty competitive in their loss against a Wiz team playing with only one of their top five starters. But in 3-8 years the Griz could be really, really good (or tanking again).

The only downside I can see to tanking is maybe season tickets holders (like me) will feel like they're being cheated of their investment. But hey, as soon as we get our guaranteed franchise savior and hang multiple banners from the rafters we'll actually have to pay more money to reinvest in season tickets. And with that extra cash flow generated by the increased season tix, our cheap owner can afford to pay for rehab to finally get our medical staff to kick their collective crack habits. Or just higher a new one.

And as an added bonus to the tank mode, we can all meet in the game threads this year and bitch and moan for 82 straight games about how our pathetic, heartless, no defense excuse for a team in full tank mode would've won the game if not for the incompetent coach on the sideline.

So, yeah sign me up for tanking. For such an incredible idea I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about this during the preseason.

frankly i'm beyond the 'just plain bad luck' stage. there's something else going on with this team.

Thrilled about the injuries? I don't see how you can't feel bad for Brendan who had finally become the consistent player we'd been waiting him to step up and become.

Oh, I'm sure that Eddie will ride Etan and Songaila, but he has no choice but to increase Blatche's minutes.

Pecherov is terrible, by the way.

This will be an interesting season, to say the least.

okay, who's got the voodoo doll??

I'd like to know is there is a statistical significance in the number of injuries we've had as compared to another team.

The only silver lining I see with all these injuries is the opportunity for some of the younger players to get time to develop. Did McGhee really get 20 and 8 last night?

That will all stop once the real games begin. Get ready for a lot of Etan/Songaila in the middle and some Caron/McGuire at PF. McGee and Pesh will be inactive for most games so that EJ can have Dixon available.

I wouldn't mind to see the team lose if they lose with their young talent on the floor. That means very little of DS and Etan (and maybe even Deshawn) and alot more Nick, Dray, and McGee (and Pesh). I do NOT want to see extended minutes of Song and Etan on the floor at all. Unfortunately, we're going to see it. We're going to get a ton of Song at center lineups as well. Stupid but that is what Eddie Jordan prefers -- i don't know why but he does.

Eddie Jordan will never sacrifice now for the future. He is going to ride Songaila, Etan, DS and AD to death in hopes of a mediocre record and a first round exit.

Get ready for TONS and TONS of small ball. I foresee a lot of lineups where Songaila finishes the game for us at C with Jamison at PF. I see Etan taking a bulk of minutes with Dray getting sporadic playing time.

There is no silver lining to Haywood being out. None at all. Just prepare yourself for a heavy dose of small ball and heartache. Throw in the towel, The season is over even before it began. And by that I mean that another first round exit is a complete failure for this franchise.

This year was 2nd round or bust. It's over. Even before it began. This franchise has no hope until EJ gets canned. We are going to be the worst defensive team in NBA history.

But if we get heavy doses of small ball, isn't that the same as tanking?
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Nevermind that, man. Common sense is no part of the argument. Eddie Jordan is a Mormon separatist! He might be female! His spleen exudes a hormone that alters his sweat to a poisonous resin! In 1978 in Los Angeles he was injected with the Black Heva virus, it has now entirely replaced the spongiform cells of his brain, he is being mind controlled by agents of the supersecret strike force of the combat accountants of the Congressional Acccounting Office, and they have been tagging and collecting resistance members for cryogenic hybernation in the Ark Project labs beneath the Library of Congress. It was forseen that he would actually win the NBA championships in 2010 and following a wild riot-tainted parade along the Masonic Star of the District, he will end with a ceremony at the White House and embrace our then-president in a prolonged and passionate but manly bro-hug thereby transmitting the semi-organic nanocells to the president's skin. All lightskinned brothers of mixed anscestry are especially susceptible, they have more genetic receptors and 'markers' for the nanocellviral technology. Once contracted by the president the Phase Two Project will begin, as low-power FM transmitters powered by the hydrogen cell batteries of any passing hybrid vehicle can begin the subliminal deprogramming. Phase Two operators have been identified and given seed-cell hypnopattern cerebellum scrubbing, but what instructions they are to receive has not been determined yet. But make no mistake these are dangerous men. They are agents of the Fundamentalist Capitalsits known as the Family, sponsors of the mass programming market cult known as the National Prayer Breakfast, where innoculous bromides are laced with a toxic deconstruction of the revolutionary values of the old jeweish carpenter. In any case whatever their aim, it is imperative it is the patriotic duty to prevent this bro-hug from taking place. 29 teams have signed up to do this. Agents of injury have stricken the players with ligament decaying alkalides through combination contact catalysts. These triple-C chemicals have been sent in fanmail from the US Postal service. There is a reason why stamps are still cheap. YOu can't fly a plane on the income from a 29 cent postcard, understand. Reagan understood this, that's why he broke up the air-traffic controller sects. BUt they can't do it alone. Eddie Jordan must be removed from his position, and no lightskined descendant of Eurocaucasion/African ancestry must be occupying the lynchpin seat of power that is the hidden Bullet contained under the Robe of Wizards, spoken abut in the secret anals of Truth. It is your patriotic duty. They'll make us all zombies in phase three, there can be no resistance, thier capacitors of control are too powerful. Decode the typoes on the Bulls front page of these secret oracle pages if if you don't believe it. I said 'if' twice, you see? Erif Eidde Nadroj. Ym Sllab!!!

I agree, let's see the young talent including McGhee. Eddie Jordan should be fired if he plays small ball and leaves all those 7 footers sitting on the bench. We all know that's what going to happen with zero reppercussions.
