Utah Jazz @ Washington Wizards 11/12/08 Begin the win streak

Post#1 » by Wiz Fo Champz » Mon Nov 10, 2008 11:05 pm

Okay, so things do look pretty ugly right now but these Wizards have always been able to put it together in their darkest hour. Last year after losing the a Cleveland team who had a total of 7 players the Wizards put together a run winning 3 of their next 4 beating Chicago, New Orleans twice, and Charlotte. Two years ago after an unacceptable and embarrassing loss to the Blazers the Wizards won three straight games. Three years ago when it seemed like the Wizards had blown their chances of getting the fifth seed, they rallied off three straight wins in the last three games of the season against Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Detroit all playoff teams to get the fifth seed. Oh, and last year we were in the same exact position as we are now so let's get the job done on Wednesday against Utah.

Utah Jazz (5-1)

PG- Ronnie Price
SG- Ronnie Brewer
SF- CJ Miles
PF- Carlos Boozer
C- Mehmet Okur
6th man- AK47

The Jazz don't have an impressive lineup...

Washington Wizards (0-5)

PG- Juan Dixon
SG- DeShawn Stevenson
SF- Caron Butler
PF- Antawn Jamison
C- Etan Thomas
6th man- Nick Young

-------

Wizards need to wake up on the defensive end of the ball, get out on the shooters, don't let the Jazz run the Wizards off the court, focus on knocking down jumpers, and get consistent production from all their players.

Oh and don't play Darius Songaila.
-----

For the people who have already given up on this team give the Wizards one last chance to prove they can accomplish something this season. I understand Eddie Jordan's defensive scheme has been a disaster and his rotations might be iffy at times but he has been able to motivate his players and let's see if he can get it done on Wednesday.

Also, since I really haven't posted much about this. The people who want to tank this season to get Eddie fired and get a high draft pick need to realize that draft picks often don't pan out the way they're supposed to and the Celtics just won a championship with Doc Rivers at the helm.
---

Prediction:
Washington Wizards: 103
Utah Jazz: 99

Actually we used to beat them when we were healthy. Remember the Arenas buzzer beater?

Okur is going to miss this game, which could help lead us to victory numero uno

Our worst loss of the last season came at the hands of the Jazz 89-129, we lost both games to them. The buzzer-beater was 2 or 3 years ago.

The Jazz are a prime example of the type of team I expect to trounce us, even with a missing starter or two.

The Jazz are missing their best player and their center who was an all-star two years ago. If the Wizards don't win this game you can cross this season out.

We're also missing our best player and our center who, while not an all-star, is still one of the best fifteen or so at his position.

We weren't healthy last season when we played them.

Due theory in full effect. The Wiz are due for a W and the Jazz are due for a 2 game losing skid.

I'm feeling oddly confident.

There's no reason for me to feel this way. But I do.

Wizards - 104
Jazz - 98

Young with 26 off the bench.

MGee should start, but he won't. MGee should be getting Haywood minutes but he won't. Young should be getting close to 30mins but he won't. Daniels will start tomorrow, even though he shouldn't. Eddie Jordan shouldn't be our coach but he is....

*muffled gunshot*

F**K!! How did I miss a point blank shot? Oh that's right, I watch Wizards basketball.

0 and whatever...

Utah - 107
Wiz - 88

:ouch:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Predictions.

EJ starts

PG- AD 35 mins
SG- DeShawn Stevenson 35 mins
SF- Caron Butler 45 mins
PF- Antawn Jamison 45 mins
C- Etan Thomas 40 mins

Because he is in a panic, he shortens the bench and gives max minutes to his vets.

Then he goes DSong at center and some Dixon and NY. AB gets in but after a mistake gets pulled.

NY plays 8 mins.
McGee get 5-7 mins

Why, because he is EJ.

0-6. We fall behind early. Loss the first quarter. We make a late game push after its a blow out but it to little... way to late.... It's EJ.

i disagree with the heavy minutes. the last game EJ only played caron and aj 20-some minutes. he's coming around with the young guys. the only problem is that young and mcgee, the players we would like to be on the court with songalia, whom i for one, loathe.

i don't think so. EJ isn't on the hot seat. I think pollin's got him on a leash that just stretches and stretches and stretches... so no panic whatsoever.

Dixon is supposed to start over Daniels again even if Daniels can play, at least for this game.

Dixon's playing like a differnt player than in any of his previous 6 seasons. More than twice the assists and about one-third the turnovers. On the season he has 21 assists and only 2 turnovers.

There's no way he can continue this pace.

Regardless, I'm very confident that he can score and keep about a 2 or 3 to 1 assist/turnover ratio. The fact that he's not hesitating to take the open shot and that he'll put pressure on opposing defenses should help the Wizards.

I think this game with Utah might be a W for the Wizards.
Bye bye Beal.

This is sad to say (at least for me) but I get some doubts about my desire of a Wizards win or a wizards loss and getting the coach fired (not probably at all)...well, but as a Wizards fan, I always want a win, that´s my true desire.

Wizards: 104 - Jazz: 92
