The Disturbingly Sucky Ed Tapscott Thread

Post#1 » by JWizmentality » Fri Dec 12, 2008 2:29 am

He's earning it tonight. Someone bump the DeSuck thread also. I'm typing up a personal letter of apology to Nick Young, telling him I understand why he asked to be traded and I won't hold it against him.

It's absolutely shocking that Tapscott could see what got Eddie Jordan fired and then turn around and do the EXACT same thing. He's either hiding the fact that he's legally blind or he's a bonafide, class-A moron. Grunfeld cannot let this continue for the rest of the season. I don't care if he needs to coach the team himself - stop this foolishness and play the young guys.

MJ was right about the Wizards. Mom and Pop run team. DC-guys coaching this team into the ground.

Tapscott is no coach. This team with him running it is complete garbage.

Ernie has his hands tied. You know he probably wants to drop Tapscott's a$$ like a bag of bricks but the PR would be really bad. We'll just have to suffer through this for the rest of the season, unless Ernie jumps the gun and hires his replacement soon.

Okay, so you ride Mike James from when the lead was down to 10 and he forced a key shot at the end of the third all the way until the Wizards are back down by 21 ...

Tapscott SUCKS. James never should have been on the court that long.

I can't believe he played James ahead in the rotation before Young. That would be the last straw for me. I'd go right up Ernie and ask for a trade.

If now is not the time to bring in Crittenton, there may never be one.

Is this you speaking in hypotheticals or did he really ask for a trade?

And Ed is doing exactly what he is being told to do: go for the win. While I agree this year should be for developing the youngsters let's look at it from Abe's shoes. Not to be rude but he's no spring chicken so he probably wants one last championship and who can blame him? He deserves it. He's probably telling Ernie and Ed to go for the win and using the veterans in his opinion is our best chance. Do I agree with it? Nope, but I can understand he doesn't want to see his team tanking in what could be his final seasons as owner.

If these crappy 20 minute games for Nick continue when our playoff hopes are lost I'll blame Ed, but until then I give him a pass. Hopefully we will see J-Critt, NY1, D-Mac, Bulletproof, Melon-head, and to a lesser extent Stewie logging major minutes but it'll be in time.

Even Abe should know that this year they are pretty much doneski. We are arguably the worst team in the league. Play the youngins.

I mentioned at the time that hiring Tapscott made no sense, since he has not been a coach in like 100 years. And do you know who draws up end-of-game plays? That's right, Wes Unseld, Jr. Mark my words: if Uncle Abe is still alive at the end of the season, bet your bottom dollar that Wes Jr. is the next coach of the Wiz.

But whoever the next coach is, please, please, I beg you, please: scrap the Princeton offense.

As I mentioned in another thread, it seems to me that the key feature of this offense is a ridiculous 3-man weave at the top of the key that does nothing but eat up 6-7 seconds of the 24-second clock.

And this may have been discussed elsewhere, but why is Jamison allergic to the post? When he was in college, he set up camp down low and ate people alive because his release is so quick. Does that not work here in the leeg because he is a below-average passer and therefore we can't run a standard offense through him?

We should be playing the youngin's now. Mike James ahead of NY1 you have got to be kidding me. This season is a lost cause. I think the trade EG just made was more for PR than to improve. Why else would you trade for 2 players who have not played a meaningful basketball game in at least 1-2 seasons.

James should not sniff the floor unless someone is hurt or in foul trouble. In the offseason we did nothing to improve this team and now look where standing pat has got us. It's going to be a long season. The only reason I really want to watch any Wiz games now is to see our young players play. The only reason I watched the game last night until the end becasue I wanted to see Javaris Crittenden play. (We need to find him a nickname).

BTW if this team hires Wes Unseld Jr. as its next coach, how can we take this franchise serious about winning. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against him, but I do not think he has done anything to prove hiring him as our next coach is a good move. We would be the laughingstock of the league.
