DaJuan Summers/Caron Butler

I'm going to make a bold statement and I'm prepared for the criticism I'll receive.

IMO, G'Town's DaJuan Summers would be a better fit for us at the SF position than Caron.

Summers is bigger, much taller and is quite simply a much more explosive athlete than Butler.

Don't get me wrong...there are still aspects of his game he must improve but I just feel that potentially Summers would fit in better with us than CB3.

Am I completely outta my mind?

The ironic thing is that I just looked up DaJuan Summers' profile on NBADRAFT.net and guess who they compare him to?

You guessed it! Caron Butler.http://www.nbadraft.net/players/dajuan-summers

Apparently that site is run by people as crazy as I am. :D

That's a good comparison - though Butler was a much tougher inside scorer at UConn than Summers is at G-town. Summers is more of a finesse player. Then again, Caron has changed his game in the pros - so, they are somewhat similar now - even though their college games were very different.

Is he much taller than Caron? I don't know. He's listed at 6'8, but I think he's closer to 6'7. At least he plays more like 6'7. But maybe he's grown - I still haven't seen him since last season. I see his shooting percentages have greatly improved. We'll have to see how he does when the competition gets tougher.

Aside from the fact that Summers can't shoot it, pass, or put it on the deck effectively, I'd say that he and Butler, a bona fide 20 PPG guy, are identical.

Gotta love DC fans........always overhyping the local college talent.

What the heck is the point of this thread? For this to be "proven", the Wizards would have to draft Summers and get rid of Butler to open up the small forward spot. At this point, there's about a .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of that happening.

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm not at all convinced that CB will be a Wizard next season.

Though Summers wouldn't be my first choice to replace him.
