What? No game thread? Detroit vs the Wiz.

Reinvigorated Wiz accidentally beat confused Pistons. "Weren't they tanking?"

Tomorrow's headlines today.

Join the fun. Woo. Let's see if we can restore some 'dignity' to the mantra.

Oh no, not another 6 games of DSUCK starting. Hopefully he breaks his pattern and doesn't hold to this model is DS continues to blow.

I have a decent feeling we won't suck tonight.

Sorry. That's as good as it get right now. I'm just looking to see progress and something that looks like professional basketball and coaching.

Ha ha, Mike James is starting. I'd love to be incredibly annoyed, but just yesterday I predicted that Dixon - because he has been our best backcourt player over the past two weeks - would be the casualty if Tap followed through with his comment on trying to give N1 more minutes. So predictable.

that's just asinine. ugh. tapscott and grunfeld suck. this all better turnout to just be an effort to build up James' trade value because it's definitely not about rewarding those that have played well, smart or with energy.
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

Mike James and Deshawn Stevenson is starting. Hey Nate -- if you can, I'd like for you to do some research and tell us if this is the worst shooting backcourt in the history of the NBA? We all know Deshawn is already taken the crown as one of the worst shooters in NBA history. Let's not rob Mike James of some glory too.

Sweet. A Mike James and DeShawn Stevenson backcourt. Blatant signs of tanking.

There is just no way you can have 2 guards on the court who can't shoot.

No way should DS and James ever be on the court together unless its a last play defensive shop play.

And while this may look bad right now, I think this is the set up to get DS out of the starting line up.

We are getting closer to something that may be serviceable.

AB, AJ, CB, DS, MJ

is only one step away from something like

AB, DSOng, AJ, CB, MJ

or

AB, AJ, DMAC, CB, MJ

Dixon is probably better off the bench. He is a spark player.

Don't you love how andray can actually defend rasheed? Playing him quite well in the post and rebouding well against him. Also able to score on him as well. It's why he's the perfect PF prototype.
Also I think Mike James is able to play. Thats why new orleans wasn't ready to give him up straight away and a second router had to be routed to them

So, against big, tall prototype Cs, McGee doesn't get any time because he's too small and thin. And, against slender, mobile, PF/C types, McGee doesn't get any time because he's too green. I think any expectation of McGee getting legitimate minutes this year should be tabled. I'll just pretend that the first few games of the season never happened, and that McGee is a long-term project who's incapable of impacting a game in the short term.

There. That's better.

I should also note that Nick was allowed to miss four shots in the first half, and still received 9 mins of playing time. Of course, everyone other than Mike James and Songaila are shooting terribly in the first half, anyway.

FINALLY!!! Not having assigning Caron to end a quarter results in us actually scoring at the buzzer.

Yeah, Butler's not being very aggressive at all. 4 FGA?

In contrast, Mike James has 12 FGAs with 10 mins left in the 4Q.

That depends: did Ji forecast a lot of precipitation, but nothing sticking?
