Here are your nominees from tonight's win against the Oklahoma City Thunder....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Rules

Here's the deal - after each win, we'll have a player of the game thread. You post the top 3 performers (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place). The top-3 vote-getters will receive points...

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place = 1pt

At the end of the season, I'll tally up the point totals and put it into a thread. We should have a good idea of who was the most valuable player, at least according to Wizards fans. :D

The poll winner is for posterity only. It has no affect on the recorded winner. If you want your vote to count, post the top-3 performers.

Blatche actually had just 1 block. He had 3 steals though.

I'll go with:
1. Blatche
2. Jamison
3. DMac

I don't want Jamison to go by unnoticed here. 29 points on 22 shots despite being the center of attention for OKC's defense is a damn fine game.

Blatche balled but I'm going to give it to Dmac. Dude was everywhere. Secondly, I believe Mike James was the one who got the ball rolling.

DMac
Mike James
Blatche.

Jamison really grabbed hold of the young Thunder forwards like a terrier does a rat, shook the shxtoutta them. But he'll earn more accolades this year so I'll bump him down the list out of gamesmanship to get some props for quality effort elsewhere:

1. McGuire on tough match-ups.
2. Blatche vs nobody at all. BUt still, giving himself a reason to get in the weight room so he can do this on a consistent basis.
3. Gentleman Antawn Jamison. Doing this on a nightly basis to show the youngsters why you never give up on a season, if only for your personal pride alone. Winning feels good.

Honorable mention:
4. Juan Dixon, espresso for your offense
5. MIke James, boosting that trade value.
6. Etan Thomas, showing the value of keeping prepared to play, no complaining, just work.
7. DeShawn Stevenson. Not shooting = not sucking as bad.

Hmm

I'm going

1- MJ - he was the glue that made this machine run. Even with jacking some shots at the end to bring his average down, 11 assist and running the offense set it up for AB, AJ and others. He and AJ were the vets out there.

2- Sir Blatche' - Sweet line 15 boards, spin move for dunks, 4 asts, 3 stl, 19 pts on 3 PFs in 37 mins.

3- AJ - To often we over look what he does. He filled the line with CB off the floor. El Captitan didn't force his game and lead this group of youngsters along with MJ.

Huge Honorable mention to

DMAC - he did the equivalent for the defense that MJ did for the O and he got off with those energy raising dunks. That got the team pumped. I wish I had a spot for him in the top 3 but the board was filled.

Tapps - I thought he did a masterful job with the line ups. Everyone that should have played did. We got the win. We grow as a team. He started NY instead of DS but didn't over play NY when he got erratic. Everyone contributed. DS played with in himself. It was a fun game to watch. Dixon got some burn at SG.

47 rbs, 31 ast, 12 steals, 5 blocks, 11 TOs, 104 pts.

Honorable mention

DeShawn - The man played with in himself and played efficiently. Addition by subtraction. He didn't get in the way. 6 ast. 1 steal in 31 min. He played more stable ball then NY who is still a mental case playing blacktop ball. Tapps has to find a way to get through to this kid. He is a spazz. He is wasting talent until he gets is head screwed on right.

Juan - Nice to see you balling again. He is just a solid mental presence.

As I said, they aren't tanking just yet. This win and this article are proof of that.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 01187.html

Hey, consider this, we really won the Cleveland game so in truth, we are on our first 2 game winning streak. One against a top 3 team on the road and one against one of the worst teams at home. They showed a lot of focus to come back ready.

Bring me Houston. They are dinged up right now. Good time to jump them.
