GET READY FOR 2-0 or 3-0 DEPENDING ON HOW YOU SEE IT.

8:30 PM ET, December 29, 2008
Toyota Center, Houston, TX
Comcast SportsNet Baltimore

Injuries for Houston:
McGrady - knee DTD - missed 7 games 11/26-12/12

Arrest - Ankle

Wizard - Caron Ankle - DTD

Will CB be ready to play. I think yes.

Arrest played last game which was a double over time on a bad ankle and came up big. Will he be ready again ? Double over time couldn't be good for that ankle but he said he would be ready.

WIZARDS STARTERS

Andray Blatche C
Antawn Jamison PF
Dominic McGuire SF
Caron Butler SG
Mike James, PG

ROCKETTES STARTERS

Yao Ming C
Luis Scola, PF
Shane Battier SF
Luther Head G
Rafer Alston G

These guys are banged up so this give us a good chance. We may end up seeing some McGee on Yao who will be seeing his second action against him. I'm not saying McGee is ready or that he will shut him down but he should be able to give us a few good minutes against him. Anything he can give will help. This is as deep and as stable as we have been all season with Etan and Dixon getting in the line up last game. James has settled into his role as PG. DS played a workman like games last game and wasn't a liability. Now if CB can come back and just play that filler role he is so good at playing, I think we can take the next step.

We have Blatche, Etan, Mcgee, AJ and DSong to throw at Yao and their other post players with a newly confident DMAC to guard whoever we sick him on. Get Yao in foul trouble and they will be greatly limited. Blatche should pull him out and try to drive by him. Or, we should run them since they have bad wheels and we have enough fresh legs to do it with James, Dixon, Young and DS at guard.

These guys have not played that tough of a schedule. I think they are ripe for the picking.

Wizards have long struggled against the Rockets, losing seven straight overall in the series and 13 of their last 14 at Houston. A Rockets win Monday would give the team a series sweep for the fourth straight season.

Mike James to visit his old teams back to back. Not that it is unlikely to happen again.

THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. WE ARE GOING TO TAKE THEM.

And in celebration of our victory. Meet the Rockettes. BYOTP :)

IBTL

We don't need no bizarro-ji mojo to accidentally derail our tanking. Board protocol says if the team wins when you create the game thread, you create the next game thread. No cherry-picking miller's rightful loss against the Roxies.

First off, this team isn't tanking. Head out of sand before you choke.

Second, having never started a game thread, I had no idea about that protocol so chill. It's not like people have been jumping over each other to start one lately. L

Sorry Miller.

Yeah we need a reprise of pine's Newcomers/Links thread to keep folks up to date on the longstanding board habits etc. ji used to swoop in and jump the queue trying to cherry pick a probable win off a weak opponent. It invariably lead to disaster. Gil's injury was one of 'em. Caron's another. Long losing streaks tend to follow. Not that that's a bad thing right now...

But still rules is rules. If you break the chain you might accidentally start a string of wins and positively ruin our chance of landing in the lotto. 11!!11!!11!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!!!!

Tanking I say! We sometimes just don't even tank effectively.

Since this thread is due to be locked eventually I'll just take the opportunity to taunt you since ya wants to be an ass. Tanking! We's tanking! Tanks a lot. Tanks for the memories. Tank you very much.

But other than that, this would have been a good game thread. And you're right all the effort is appreciated since we're low on wins. Plus the optimism is laudable. I do expect wins will be harder and harder to avoid as the season develops...

Doc hit the nail on the head with his post on thread-making-protocol. But no biggie, hands.
