Wizards Coach - Tapps (5-14) Team (6-24, 2-12 away)
Boston Coach - What's up Doc Rivers (28-5, 17-1 home)
First game of the new year. The road-weary Boston Celtics lost more games on their four-game West Coast trip than they had all season going into it. Boston is coming home to heal. I expect the refs to be very one sided to help them do it. We need to stop PP who went off last game.
The Wizards have been playing a lot more solid ball as of late and Tapps is mixing up the line ups very well. We could easily be on a 4-0 with 3 games being against some of the best teams in the league. The Wizards also have a little mention advantage knowing the have played Boston tough last year and even took one in Boston when they were outmatched. It's a different line up then it was then but any mental advantage something the Wizards will take. They don't have the mind set of a 6-24 team. They know they are better then that and will continue to try to prove it.
Wondering what the staring line ups with be with CB in question for a return.
Could be this if we follow what we have been doing.
C - Blatche 6-11 250 age 22
PF - AJ 6-9 235 age 32
SF - DMAC 6-9 220 age 23
SG - NY 6-6 200 age 23
PG - James 6-2 188
or this is CB is healthy enough to start
C - Blatche 6-11 250 age 22
PF - AJ 6-9 235 age 32
SF - DMAC 6-9 220 age 23
SG - CB 6-7 228 age 28
PG - James 6-2 188
or this if Tapps is still willing to move the line ups around with CBs ankle in question.
C - Etan 6-10 260 age 30
PF - Blatche 6-11 250 age 22
SF - DMAC 6-9 220 age 23
SG - AJ 6-9 235 age 32
PG - James 6-2 188
VS
C - Cedric Perkin 6-10 280 age 24
PF - KG 6-11 250 age 32
SF - PP 6-7 235 age 31
SG - Ray Allen 6-5 205 age 33
PG - Rondo 6-1 171 age 22
This may be time for another grand experiment. AJ at SG. I know people will think I'm crazy. That's already established. But AJ can't cover PP at SF and PP went off last game. Also if AJ gets in foul trouble that take our core scorer off the court which will but us in a world of hurt. Blow out. We need DMAC covering PP.
The most interesting match up with my above line up is AJ and Allen. Certainly Allen can run AJ around but Etan and AB can clear the middle and let AJ go one-on-one against Allen in the post. He could get him in foul trouble which would brake up the 3 amigos. That would force them to go more to PP which would be covered by DMAC. I don't mind that challenge.
You can also put CB on PP later off the bench. You could do CB at start at SG with that line up but I don't see that happening since AJ has been playing like a warrior while CB has been out.
I think this would be our best chance to match up defensively by slowing down their heart PP and KG while swapping pts at SG with us having the advantage of getting fouls at SG. Etan provides the muscle and leverage to pound with Perkins and that free up AB to cover his childhood idol KG who if you remember he had KG talking to himself previous make ups. AB would be ramped up for that match up which is what you want.
"Celtics coach Doc Rivers singled out rebounding as one of the major problems against the Blazers, who held a 44-29 edge in that category." I think this last line up gives us the best chance to make this happen again.
