Washington Wizards @ NY Knicks

Post#1 » by Scabs304 » Tue Jan 13, 2009 3:35 pm

When: 1/14/2009 @ 7:30 PM
Where: MSG (yes sounds like some highly concetrated salt)
Who: New York Knickerbockers (believe we should be calling them this the rest of the season because of how foolish they look out on the courts most nights)

I had promised updates to the last game thread and got sidetracked and did not deliver. I will try to update this first page before the game starts.....
I am Scabs.

Etan is injured:
Etan Thomas underwent tests on Tuesday, which revealed that the Wizards' center has a torn MCL in his left knee.

The injury occurred in the first quarter of last night’s game versus Milwaukee. Thomas will be listed as out indefinitely, and will be reevaluated in two weeks.

doh, so much for building up his trade value...
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Gotta keep Haywood away from him. We all know how much he loves Haywood's balls.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9074 ... nee-injury

With no link I thought that was a bad joke.

Wow. That doesn't help at all with the trade value is right. We would want to touch this guy.

So Etan is on pace for 13M in 300 mins. That's some nice cake.

At least the medical staff got one right. Or maybe it is all just part of the tank mode. In 2 weeks they say is was really just a strain. This is to get OP more minutes :) Next Young Gun to the plate.

This is going to be real interesting.

Blatche, AJ, DMAC, CB, Crit
McGee, OP, DSong, NY, James and Dixon

We are going to see some interesting line ups. AJ probably still has a strained knee. Give him some rest. Let him come off the bench. And CB deserves some rest also.

I'm kinda liking these injuries we'll get to see what the young guns can do with some big minutes I'd like to see Critt a little more I'm sure he's better than what he's shown us already. We already know what Blatch,McGee, and NY can do. I mainly wanna see D-Mac progress to become a better shooter and what Critt can do for us.

Will the Verizon Center put Curry on the Kiss Cam?
I would post more if I could remember my password.

Everyone has sometime to improve on the way I see.

I'm stoked to watch these guys this year. It was disappointing at first but now that I see all we have accomplished I'm digging it. Still some questions up in the air regarding how we get ride of James, DS, and Etan because we really don't have roster spots for them next year but this is cool right now.

McGee - I hardly think we know what we will get from him. At least in a good way. He is next on the spot light for improvement given that NY is out of his rut.

OP - is close behind regarding need to show something positive. Wild man. I make buckets. I guess he will shoot. Thats what he does. But I wish he would do some of what he did the first few times I ever saw him which was close to the hoop. Rebounds.

NY - keep a level head but keep it up. Mostly the spot up 3 is what I'm looking for him to become solid at doing. The drives etc are important also but we need a solid 3 shooter. I want at least on dunk...maybe two.

Crit - he is up next. More of the same improvement and settling in would be good for him. Hopefully he hit a couple outside shots also. Not to much but something to show team he can hit it.

D-MAN - same formula as Crit. A few outside shots but I want to see him dunking at least once or twice a game. Great energy play for the team to get pumped up.

Blatche - I want to see us run the offense threw him for a good set. Let him create, dish and hit. He needs to be leaned on to grow.

I think there is something to see in all the Young Guns.

As for the vets

CB - He just needs to calm down and go back to being glue. Rebounds, assists, some 3 balls. Just relax

AJ - Pick and pop. 3 balls. Thats what I want from him. Don't force the inside stuff to much.

Dixon - I would love to see Crit start and Dixon back him up. That would be solid because right now James needs to show me something in adjusting him game to less of the runners and less shots except spot up shots.

DSong doesn't need to change a thing. I like his game.

Typical Wizards luck. McGee blocks a shot on the perimeter with 2 seconds left. The ball bounces into the hands of Harrington who takes an off-balance step-back 3-pointer and BANKS it in.

Hook shot from McGee. That's a positive sign. YOu can build a long career as a big with a reliable hook shot.
