The Rules

Here's the deal - after each win, we'll have a player of the game thread. You post the top 3 performers (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place). The top-3 vote-getters will receive points...

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place = 1pt

At the end of the season, I'll tally up the point totals and put it into a thread. We should have a good idea of who was the most valuable player, at least according to Wizards fans. :D

The poll winner is for posterity only. It has no affect on the recorded winner. If you want your vote to count, post the top-3 performers.

Had we lost... Songalia.

Since we won, Butler. He was his smooth self for the first three periods.

I really thought Blatche's play early set the tone and his 2 FT's late sealed it.

1. The Live Wire Dom McGuire. 12 boards, 6 offensive re-set buttons? 4 assists? 2 blocks? Said elsewhere on offense the past couple games ETapp has Dom running as a 2 guard, bringing the ball up court initiating the offense from the top of the key. Caron has responded by regaining a bit of his game, looking far more comfortable. And on defense Dom plays X-factor, finding the ball playing tight on whomever. It usually ain't his man that gets loose for the open three.

2. Caron, remember the swag. Had fun out there, at least until the late game avalanche of 3's.

3. Gentleman Antawn Jamison. Solid, ink him in for 20+ and 10. We can't and won't be a defensive squad but the man keeps us above water however he can to make up for any shortfall at the other end.

HM: Dray Blatche but he's got to figure how to defend without fouling. IF he gets stronger a bit quicker, anticipates the move and moves his feet, the refs will give the benefit of the doubt. The team needs him out there. Otherwise, we get all Lithuanian for too long. A bit of the old Lietuva is fine, but not in the middle and not for too long.

I think just as nice was his 4-5 shooting, which brings him up to 48.1% from the field in January. He's still our fifth option on offense regardless of lineup, but he's starting to show just enough that we don't have to play 4-on-5 on that end of the court, which in turn makes it easier for him to continue to get big minutes like he did in this one.

You still have go to the bench though. One major reason why the starters faltered so much down the stretch because of all the heavy minutes they were forced to play. At some point you have to just allow the youngsters to play and let them grow through their mistakes.
