So I'm just saying. Well before EG was here, we had our share of stupid trades and stupid contracts.
The Howard deal was just the gold trophy. And that was squarely all Abe. He kicked his GM to the curve and then went and offered Haywood even more money then he needed to. He had 3 young high talented players and he least of the three stay. Come on, he had a 2 in 3 chance of getting it right and he blow it.
Hmmm, offering more money then he needed to in order to keep a player he was in love with.
This is what makes it so hard to pin the tail on EG. The owner has established a pattern of stupidity on his own that looked exactly like the thing you want to blame EG for doing. So how do you know who to blame?
One thing people have to remember is that we have had talent here. Hell, the Pistons were the NBA version of Phili. DC players winning it big on another team.
This is why EGs steady as it goes hadn't bothered me. It's because it was the exact opposite that got us in so much trouble. Sure, there is a time to make of move. There were chances to move AJ. But this franchise had a huge loosing culture hole to climb out from under. It was a tough call.
I mean if we do nothing more then get our players back, who doubt we will be a 500% plus team again next year while still having upside. At a min, are trading pieces will be worth more.
