Cherrypicking a loss: Wiz vs Spurs
This should be yungal's game thread, but since he had to step in as a surrogate for the interloping Kings fan's thread (resulting in an accidental win) I'll try to work the jinx to get us back into the tank-stakes.
Welcome home Roger Mason.

Yeah, lets get back to being in the running for a top-3 pick. Tap putting Song on Duncan should ensure a loss.

yes, because that's the thing that makes this spurs team better than the wizards. Tap putting Songaila on Duncan.

Nah, but it helps quite a bit.

I don't care how good of a shooter Mason JR is I'm not terribly disappointed he's not here because his hair style is just dreadful. When is he going to cut that mess?

and it aint even close.

all Nick has going for him is youth. It's not even that Roger is better than him. It's that we gave his money to Deshawn mutha fuggin Stevenson.

I used to have a real soft spot for Juan Dixon, but that spot is non-existent after this year. How does he get playing time? Why hasn't he been cut yet?

Re: Cherrypicking a loss: Wiz vs Spurs
This is pretty funny, for a team who hasn't been able to shoot the 3 for anything, the only person who has been able to shoot it well for the past 5 years comes back to haunt us. I know Nick Young probably has more upside(air quotes), but its nice to see someone who can score the ball without having to dominate it and dribble forever. Jamison is the only one on this roster who can do that, and he can't defend worth a dime.
P.S.The Spur's passing is sick!!

Mason is +23 for the game.
He almost outscored the Wizards in the third. He had 15 and the Wizards had 19.

Im glad someone had the balls to post that on this board, I think I just read someone post that all NY has going for him is youth and that's exactly right. Mason would have been the perfect compliment to Arenas when he gets back because he doesn't need the ball to score and he can run the point. It would be nice to get someone who can score from outside consistently, outside of Mason when's the last time we had someone like that?
I'm dreading a NY and Arenas backcourt. Its going to be full of 1 on 1 play, forced shots and no passing. This team could really learns something from the Spurs.

Can't complain about losing, but god this is a painful game to watch. Almost no minutes for the young guys with Caron and AJ jacking up shot after shot after shot.

Re: Cherrypicking a loss: Wiz vs Spurs
yeah, that stevenson signing is looking worse and worse... in a way signing gilbert cost us a lot more than $111 million because i heard he insisted stevenson be signed... you just can't let players dictate to you like that...
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Good to see RM Jr killing us. Serious
Also good to see Young and Mcgee (8mins combined) getting some burn in this pointless game. Sarcasm
Also, funny quote by one of my friends who knows nothing about basketball, "No man that ugly should be named Fabricio"

Man...This is a clinic. Duncan and Parker have a combined 15 shot attempts and their team is up by 26. I don't think I've seen that team take a bad shot yet. Nothing forced, just flawless execution. Beautiful.

Before others attack what I said about Young, I'll say that Nick is a fluid athlete and a scorer, better than Roger inside the arc and at creating his own shot. He's 4-5 years younger than Roger, and can get better at things. He's got better physical tools to work with on the defensive end, too, than Roger.
I am aware that Young has the best +/- on the Wizards.
What I don't think Young possesses is the mentality to know how to contribute in any other way but scoring.
OTOH, Mason is a smart dude who will make plays and minimize his mistakes at both ends of the court. Right now, I value his decision-making, decisiveness, and shot making more than Nick's. Thus, I think he's better.
I don't think Young would be helping the Spurs nearly as much as Roger is.

Much as I just criticized Nick, nobody could be doing a better job of icing him than Tapscott has.
Javale definitely was doing better prior to Tapscott.
They got in in garbage time, but the play has been real chaotic and not productive.

You know it. Poetry in motion. I hate games like this because the more I watch the Spurs the more a absolutely hate our own team. Just want to throw everybody out and rebuild with true professionals and a coach that doesn't stroke his players' ego ala EFJ.
