J-Crit should get the start tonight with Gilbert should resting his knee and Mike James on the shelf.

Tapscott's hand has been forced with all of these injuries to Darius, James, Stevenson, and Etan. A blessing in disguise if you ask me. He is forced to play Crit, Young, and Blatche heavy minutes. Should be a very fun end to a miserable season. Great return game by Gil last night.

Our defense is so bad that whether we have Arenas and Haywood healthy or whether we draft Blake Griffin, we're not going to become a contender. It's just embarrassing and disgust to watch the Wizards defend the pick-n-roll...

Five assists through three quarters? We going for some kind of all-time record here?

Agreed. this team has no defensive basketball IQ whatsoever. probably beyond repair too since they are so used to being so inept on the defensive end.

In a game where we score 115 points and shoot 47% from three, he thinks the main reason we lost is because a lack of ball movement.

He threw the word "defense" in at the very end but brushed it off very quickly.

An NBA-caliber head coach would harp on defense for the entire interview, then quickly throw in that he'd like to see a little more ball movement.

The point he was making about assists was that they scored a boat load of pts and had very few assists so they weren't playing team ball and sharing it. To much one on one.

It was the very next sentence were he mentioned the defensive issue.

If you spend 99% of the question's answer on "ball movement and lack of assists", then you're making it your main point.

I realize the point he was making and I think it is a point that deserves the amount of time he spent talking about defense. And the amount of time he talked about defense is the amount of time an NBA-caliber head coach would spend talking about ball movement or lack thereof.

What he said or not, his point of emphasis was ball movement, not defense in the PC.

Tankscott is the perfect tank coach. We probably would have won enough games with Ayers or maybe even Unseld Jr. Tanks has absolutely no clue how to coach.

I must have watched a different post game interview. The interview I saw he talked about digging a hole in the 3rd. He then credited to Indy. Then mentioned the lack of passing and defense. Then he went on to talk about CB and AJ. He spent an equal amount of time on each.

Anyway, time to count our successes and stop the complaining.

Gil is back. From the looks of his initial outing and the things he has been saying and doing, it looks like we are going to be getting back a better version of Gil then the one that left. That's huge.

He has also committed to working with some of the younger players over the summer so that's great news for both then and him being a leader.

Next, it's looking more and more like Nick has turned to corner so now we get to see more of his upside. I don't expect it will be anything mind blowing but instead it will be more about consistency and a more rounded contribution.

DMAC has improved a tone this year.

Crit looks like a mature young man who will stay focused and puts in the work. He will get better.

Blatche has put in a solid year showing an improved outside shot, great ball handing skills and the grit to play and fight through a lot of injuries - ankle, knee and hand.

McGee has a ton of physical skills and hops. He is a project who will benefit from a summer of hard work. He and Haywood should be working together.

DSong has proven to be a solid vet with a good motor and lots of grit. He found he stroke again this year.


This team has a lot of talent and athletic younger player and when healthy, we are also tall. We still have some work to do to put it all together but we have some good pieces.
