Well WIz fans - We basically have our team back. So who will start if Haywood is starting ?
Haywood, Blatche, AJ, CB, GA
or
Haywood, AJ, CB, DMAC, GA
Cleveland is long. I always wanted us to go with the first line up against them instead of AJ at PF.
We are going to need more from McGee then we got from him tonight and hopefully GA has found his shot.
Our approach should be to get them in foul trouble in the post. It's a lot to ask from Haywood so soon but we need him to lock down Z and get him in foul trouble. Once Z is down, Blatche, McGee and DSong need to work on Side Show Bob. AJ will operate better from SF by spotting up.
I know some people will want to start DMAC on LeTravel but LeTravel usually comes out passing and even DMAC isn't going to stop him from doing that. You may as well have CB out there scoring. Specially if he can bring what he had going tonight. CB is just a better player with more good players on the floor. He is a glue player 1B All Star. He looks better as a SG if he isn't forced to create and the floor is spread more.

Who is that looser at the end asking who is Brendan Haywood talking about LaQueen like that...
News flash. He is the starting center for the other playoff team. I think that gives him the right to open his mouth. God I hate LaQueen.

http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiti ... Id%3d52242They are comparing him to Derrick Rose. AH YEAH. I WANT THAT HERE.

Hopefully Gil has been paying attention to what has changed since he was last balling on a reg basis.
Hey Gil, look at this line.
http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=290401012Can you do that ?
Personally, I think you can only you would be dropping some 3 balls so you can do it in less shots.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/s ... yerId=277922-26 and 10+ assists a game with some steals and solid D, and your gold baby.
I've been dreaming of this for a while and some jump me for it but you saw him last game. He has the court vision and passing skills to do this if he wants to and focuses on it. If we can have this version of GA, we are looking really good.

Wow... did we pick the wrong year to tank... He would fit perfectly next to Arenas at SG...

John Wall in the SEC next year? UGH.
Great to see Haywood come back last night. Can't wait for tonight, should be a classic.

I posted better clips of Wall earlier in the draft thread. Yes, Wall is a franchise player -- which is why I think we need to realistically look at our chances to win a title, and if the elements aren't there, then predict who is going to tank next year, and trade our pick for their future pick (and a vet who can help us now). For instance, if we give Rubio to a team, and get a good vet in return and their 2010 pick, we can be reasonably assured that team will remain awful for a year, and we get Wall as well.

barely, that's an absolutely horrible idea. Why would we trade a high lotto pick in this years draft for at best a 1/4 shot at a player next year? What id said team overachieves, gets unlucky in the lotto and picks 8th? Just awful.
Anyhow, back to the reason we're here.

No no no... you're missing my point. And yes, it is a gamble. I said, not only the pick, I said also get a good vet. So, for instance (not saying this is realistic, but I don't have time to search for a realistic option), if we trade Blatche, Young, Opec, expirings and Rubio for Bosh and their 2010 pick. Obviously, it would not be someone of Bosh's level. But, it both gives us a vet to "win now," and allows us to gamble on the future. As I said, I had a similar trade idea with Portland years ago. Also called an awful idea at the time. In the end (a couple years later), it would have meant we got Oden. Obviously, EG is not going to take such a gamble. I would (considering I like next year's draft much more than this year's). Even if you miss with Wall, there are still great choices.

I definitely think trading our pick to a crappy team for their 2010 pick should be on the table - especially if we're picking 3rd or lower. The key is to figure out which teams will suck next year even after the addition of the #3 pick in the draft.
Good candidates might include teams preparing for the 2010 free agency sweepstakes (who are therefore willing to acquire and hold crappy players with expiring contracts). New York might make sense here, except they don't have a 2010 pick and D'Antoni is a good enough coach to not suck even with no talent.
Minnesota is a possibility, especially if they draft Thabeet. Thabeet is raw as hell and will have absolutely no impact next year. Jefferson and Love are their only talents, and they play the same position (and Jefferson is out until Christmas, I think). And Minnesota might look to trade Miller for a pick and expiring contract, which would make their team suck even more right now.
Toronto might suck if they trade Bosh, but since they're not really poised for 2010 free agency, there's a good chance that they'll acquire decent players on longer contracts in a Bosh trade, which would prevent them from sucking too bad.
The Clippers are always a favorite to suck. That team is broken. But would they suck with the #3 and #4 pick in this draft added to their lineup?

NO MORE DRAFT TALK!
this is easily the most anticipated wizards game of the year and we're wasting time jawing about a 2010 draft pick? pull your heads out of your tuccusses people! it's game time. i'm so pumped. i know this high will deflate quickly but IF we manage to play cleveland tight, this may be the most rewarding wizards viewing we'll have for the next 7 months. cherish it. don't taint it with talk of ping pong balls and draft rights.
