Assuming that Ricky Rubio falls on your lap. It doesn't seem like he'd be the type to play along side arenas since arenas like to have the ball in his hands at all times.
What would it take to get Arenas from you. The only one I would be untouchable would be Andris and Randolph.
I think that you guys have played a majority of your years without a healthy Arenas that maybe Ricky Rubio might bring forth a new era to wizards bball.

...getting Arenas without Andris AND Randolph is nearly impossible. Your roster does not really have many valuable pieces.

It would take Andris & Randolph.
You really think you could come in here, take your two best prospects off the table and believe we'd be interested?
You believe were over here just wishing Jamal Crawford or Corey Maggette would fall in our laps?

Re: Ricky Rudio
If the Wizards draft Rubio, and Rubio pans out to be a stud, it may ultimately open up the possibility of trading Arenas. But that's not gonna happen for quite sometime. It would be foolish to trade Arenas now before he's had a chance to rehabilitate his image. And it would be foolish to assume that Rubio is a superstar until he actually demonstrates some potential in an NBA setting.

I am by no means a fan of his but he looked pretty damn good against our Olympic Team last summer in the gold medal game. Our Olympic Team as you already know was made up of all NBA players.

I'm not prepared to trade Arenas before seeing Rubio play IN the NBA with NBA rules. Sorry. It's just not worth the risk. And more importantly, Arenas has minimal trade value right now and will be worth a lot more after a full season of injury-free ball.

Rudy Fernandez looked even better, and we all see what type of year he had. Not saying he completely sucked, but he was pretty much a chucker and struggled.
Like Nate said, it would be best to see how he translates to the NBA game and rules.

Nate - also consider Arenas has an opt out after 4 years. Things could get very interesting. Not saying he will opt out, but if Rubio turns out to be a stud? Would you consider trading Arenas that year?

Re: Ricky Rudio
Does GSW have a draft pick next year? I'd work that into any Rubio package, but other than that I don't see a player I'd want. You'd have to help work some kind of blockbuster 3-way to net us a high quality 2-guard, and to do that you'd probably have to drop one of your untouchables.
But yeah the '10 draft pick would help since I'd expect the warriors would need more help than Rubio gives to dodge the lotto. And next year's draft looks to be deep and talented.
Merge.

Yeah, higher rookie PER and TS% than Ray Allen and Reggie Miller is a pretty disappointing year.
