He just isn't good anymore, perhaps the shirnk has helped him psychologically, but I'd rather draft a true under-study PG in this draft.

At this point...wouldn't mind him as a backup to Gil. He can still play. Rather have him that Mike frikkin James.

From what I saw out of him in Boston, he was an average defender (which is an significant improvement from his days in Minnesota, Phoenix, New Jersey and New York) and a willing distributor.

I'd be ok with him as our backup guard so long as he continues to put in effort on defense and doesn't take any notes from Antawn....at all.

That's the thing - it's easy to put forth effort on defense and be willing to pass when you're playing with focused vets who already have a title and won't accept anything less. One night out with Blatche and all that will be forgotten.

Marbury vs Mike James is a wash but I would MUCH rather develop Critt than move/bench him to make room for Marbury.

What is left to elaborate? Marbury has been a pillar of sportsmanship and class since his rookie year in the league. The guy is a quality human being who would be a great presence in the locker room. The guy is captain material (no offense Antawn).

The only reason to bring Marbury would be if Arenas is not 100%. I think he could work playing major minutes for a play-off team, which they could possibly be with Marbury, Butler, Jamison and Haywood.

I would take the player that I saw on the Celtics roster. Don't know if we have a roster spot or luxury tax space for him though.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

I wouldnt mind Starbury. Dude has changed his game. He's more passive. Willing to defend. He showed he was a team player in Boston. I think he knows thats the only way teams will sign him. I personally love J-Critt but if we have money to blow, we should get Marbury for cheap.

Are you kidding?!?!

In the games i saw in the playoffs he looked like garbage for boston, turning over the ball and making bad decisions. In one word NO

We have a good young PG in Critt and then there is that guy Mike James (who?)

We probably should replace Mike James but why with Marbury, i dont want Critts minutes to get eaten up.

As you can see (by the sig, which I need to change) I'm a fan, so I'd be in for him to join the squad.

I'd like him to latch on a team he can be a starter or top bench player for, but if he has to be a low role-player, why not the Wizards?

i know it's bad form to dig up old threads just to prove a point, but this is a complete 180 from the mid-season talk regarding marbury.

complete 180 because despite being a marbury supporter, i'm now not as high on him as i was. he'll be available because the c's - who have no depth at pg, would rather cut him than extend him and make him available for us to sign. it does cast shadows of doubt on how much gas is left in the tank.

PG: Stephon Marbury
SG: Gilbert Arenas
SF: Caron Butler
PF: Antawn Jamison
C: Brendan Haywood

Under Flip Saunders, this might just be crazy enough to work!

Return to Washington Wizards
