This Tread is about Crushing on Mike Miller

Post#1 » by Ed Wood » Wed Jun 24, 2009 6:56 am

Mike Miller steps on to the hardwood every night with an unimaginable burden. He is one of two NBA players who call the state of South Dakota home. The other is Adam Morrison, and it is upon Miller's shoulders that the expectation to honor the state as Morrison has made it infamous rests. You might think that impossible, but consider the path each has traveled in the NBA:

Morrison
- Was expected to be an early standout in his draft, was not.
- Has taken the awesome hair style of Pistol Pete and made it terrible.
- Was expected to bring an all-around game to the NBA, is bad at everything.
-The Bobcats got rid of him, but were stuck with Vladimir Radmonovic.

Miller
-Was the surprise rookie of the year in a draft where everyone else dissapointed.
-Has taken the terrible hair style of Mike Dunleavy Jr. among others an made it awesome.
-Was seen as a shooting specialist, has developed a strong all-around game.
-Was involved in a deal that drove Etan Thomas out of Washington.

So, in honor of Mike's struggle I offer this tread as a space to appreciate him and to discuss his play during his time with the Wizards. In conclusion I would advise any fathers here to keep a close eye on their daughters this winter, because they'll be keeping their eyes here:

When I heard Miller played poorly last year, it went in one ear and out the other. You can't judge this guy for having a bad year and especially being on 2 teams in the rebuilding mode. He's in his prime and I'm sure he would like to play for a contending team in this time of his career. There wasn't a chance for Memphis and Minnesota to contend for a champion in the last couple of years. Both are western teams and his chance of contending was very slim. I'm sure it could've been pretty hard to watch your old teammate in Memphis (Gasol) contend for a championship while you're being shipped off to another rebuilding team in Minnesota. I think we will see the old Miller in DC. He NOW has the same hope Garnett and Ray Allen had when they were traded to Boston to win a championship. He has the hope Gasol had being traded to the Lakers to win a championship. Ernie did a fantastic job with this trade because you have a hungry veteran on board. He shares the same vision as Arenas, Caron, Jamison and Haywood shares in winning a championship.

rejuvination in progress, I am willing to bet Miller is already packed and thrilled to be comming to DC. Also the Wiz managed to keep one white guy on the team, and wtf he is actually good.

He didn't play poorly last year. He was injured and ended up being serviceable in other areas. Look at his other stats. He gave us a whole lot of hussle, just not enough shooting.
