Marbury to Washington?

Agent/writer rumor-mongering? I don't see it unless James & Crit are shipped-out

I saw that too. At 1st I was like, NOOOOOOOOOO! I think we already have too many guards and Ive always been a small rotation guy so I hated it. However, Im starting to come around. Getting Marbury would give us a true backup for Gil should he go down and it would also allow us to then start NY or Foye at the 2 with Marbury, Miller, and Foye/NY coming off the bench. Thats an awesome lineup and it would be great to have some vets on the bench to compliment our young guys. I still dont see it though. I honestly think a guy like Critt would beast in Flip's system. He's not made for EJ's system but I think he would be a monster in Flip's

If Gilbert goes down, you're all screwed anyways..There's no reason to bring in this major headcase..With the draft adding all these new PG's to the league, there's plenty of old vet PG's available for cheap.

I don't get it... we have lots of guards, and are over the luxury tax threshold. If we bring in anybody it should be a bg man.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

I'm leery about any rumor that comes out of New York paper. I'll believe it when I see it.

If there is any truth, there would have to be some trade made in parallel to clear out the surplus of backcourt players.

....and just to add, Marbury just isn't that good anymore, everyone noticed how he choked-up during the playoffs (even if he had one decent quarter)

We need another guard like we need a hole in the head. At this point we need another big man plain and simple. And even if we were to trade some of our guards to make room for him, quite frankly I don't know if I'd be willing to ship any of them out to make room for "Starbury." Who would we trade to make room, certainly not Young, Foye, or Critter, they all have potential in different ways. Not Miller. Only maybe be willing to trade maybe Stevenson, and definately James.

Even if the Wizards needed a guard, Stephon Marbury would not be the answer.

There is absolutely no chance that we sign Marbury. Zero, zilch, nada, goose-egg.

i see why Marbury would want to come here. With Gilberts injury situation..he would probably be starting by January

I see there is a whole lotta Marbury ignorance in the thread. So let me enlighten you;

1) Marbury is still VERY good and still in VERY good shape. In case you forgot, he hadn't played in over a full season prior to signing with Boston. And he joined LATE in the season so he was having to learn the offense on the fly.

2) Marbury choked in the playoffs? What? He passed up an open three to hit rondo who was wide open 3 feet from the basket, who attempted some weak floater thing instead of laying it up. Marbury is the reason why the Celtics won game 5 against the Magic and went up 3-2.

3) Don't be cliche "I don't know **** about Marbury but I hate him because the NYPost told me to" quasi-NBA fans.

4) Happy 4th of July!

I'd be all for this if James and Stevenson are getting shipped out.

Otherwise, if Marbury is signed without any other roster moves, the fire EG camp has one more person.

FYI, as much as I would like him to play for the Wizards who I think have some great talent, it isn't going to happen. Nor is he going to Sacramento.

It's the New York Post. Berman is required to write at least one Marbury article a week.

With the offers the Suns have been getting, I don't think we'd reach the point where Caron would have to be included. If they want to get rid of him that bad, they have little negotiating advantage.

I'm not as down on Steph as the rest of you but I also don't think we have any need whatsoever for him on this team.

At all.

i dont want us to give Caron up but he is probably the only player the suns would want for Amare or any other player we need to make the next step would most likly take Caron away from our team :(

Even if we wanted him, why would he sign here? To be the third or fourth PG on a team that hasn't proven itself to be a contender?
