Nope. While Battier's the best player in that deal and getting rid of James' contract is appealing:

1) We're not trading big for small and young for old(er). There's a franchise history of that not working out.

2) McGee is probably our best young big, or at least the one with the highest potential.

3) We need big men. We have a notable shortage at present.

4) And throwing in a No. 1 pick, too? Hahahahahahahaha.

So while that's not a completely absurd trade, I don't think you'll find any support for it.

I really think that's asking too little on your end. Battier is the best wing defender in the NBA, his value far exceeds his stats.

Add Caron Butler in the deal and give us back a resigned Chuck Hayes. That probably is what it take to pry a guy like Battier away.

Alright Battier and Hayes for McGee and Mike James.. no 1st rounder.. consider this that Battier was untouchable before acquiring Ariza... He might be overvalued to the Rockets, but the Ariza deal makes him expandable. So maybe that's why I asked for too much.

Man hell no. You can have Mike Miller for Battier at the most. You're not getting McGee or a first round pick. Forget it.

Well, Rockets fans view Ariza as a younger, more athletic version of Battier.. Since Yao went out, Tracy's status is uncertain, and Ron leaving for LA, there is no need for Battier on a rebuilding team. Battier is one of the best assets the Rockets have and a lot of people in the Houston media think he will be moved to another team...

I might do this deal if you could give us something else to help balance things out.

Maybe genital herpes? Could we get that too?

McGee is way to promising of a Center. He would only be going into his senior year of college right now. I do really like Battier, but that would be Butler's spot.

As to the 'untouchable' conversation, McGee is one of the top, IMO, untouchable players on the team behind Gilbert and Butler.
