Nets have a lot of size and are very athletic. Haywood is gonna have his hands full with Lopez and I could see Harris giving Gil a lot of trouble if that's who he's matched up on. Should be closer than most might think.

I think the key is outscoring them. If we do that, I like our chances.

We've been through this before, fish....it's not outscoring them. It's holding them to less than we score. You're such an EJ disciple.

judging by the poll, looks like we get another chance against the hawks.
Excellent!

If our [(FGA x eFG%) + (FTA X FT%)] exceeds their [(FGA x eFG%) + (FTA X FT%)], we should win the game.
Seriously, this is the first game we should win. New Jersey has young talent, but they are not a good team yet. We are playing at home, and early in the season, we should be able to outsmart such a young team. Now is not the time for a letdown game.
Matchup-wise, Haywood should contain Lopez, so that leaves Harris as the big scoring threat. Arenas is going to have his hands full. I wonder if Mike James will get some burn?
Today would be a good day to have Jamison so he can abuse Yi.

Agreed. I'm not as worried by the ATL loss as I would be if we lose tonight.

If the Hawks win again tonight I'm REALLY gonna be pissed.

nate. I agree with your analysis, but think smarts might not beat talent if fouls don't go there way.Tonight is a game that if the Wizards lose, I might say something about the veteran acquisitions,
New Jersey concerns me. Harris and CDR get in the lane off the dribble very well. Lopez got beasted by Howard but Haywood's not going to get Brook in foul trouble. OTOH this offensive-minded, contract year Haywood could get in foul trouble guarding Lopez. I'm also concerned that Lee and Roberts could outquick Miller.
I think Blatche could be big again tonight. He could have a big game. Miller needs to look for his shot, too. Improbable as it sounds, DeShawn could do well against Lee.

I'm thinking we're due for another injury. I predict Miller rolls his ankle and the Wiz med staff performs exploratory surgery during halftime.

No way. They'll wait at least two weeks before doing an MRI, then wait another two weeks before looking at the results. THEN they'll do the exploratory surgery.

We dont bank on easy wins around here. No doubt we should win but we will also be without Jamison and probably Caron so its definatly not a sure thing

I could totally be wrong on this but I saw you say this last game and I thought you were wrong. Not in what you are saying but I think what he's saying is a joke. You know by just saying the team with the most points will win. I think you are taking it literaly like he means winning a shootout but I think both times he meant it as a joke by just saying the team who has the most points will win. If you go back into the other thread the next guy also played the same joke the opposite way. I think he said if we hold them to less points than us then we will win or something like that. Again, I could totally be wrong and you could be right but I think its just a joke about the team with the most points will win the game

I was going to put this one down as close W or L until I read about Devin Harris. Gilbert is going to go-off tonight I predict.

Let's hope haywood and blatche are smart enough to apply the scouting report. Josh Smith is left handed adn can't go to his right yet they almost never over played him to his left inside forcing him to go right.
Let's see if they actually apply the scouting reports this game.
