I thought we saw the last of him when we traded for Miller and Foye

This guy is the reason we lost tonight (VS Heat)

He goes for a 1-3 breakaway layup instead of pulling back the offense and setting up play.

KNOWING DAMN WELL HE CANNOT HIT A FREE THROW TO SAVE HIS LIFE. HE STILL FORCES THE ISSUE FOR A FOUL.

That had to be the most embarrassing stretch of basketball I've ever seen. Brick after brick after brick...at some point the guy just has to be taken out of the rotation for being so inept offensively.

Oh my gosh, there are not words in the English language strong enough to express how badly he sucks at all elements of basketball. We've been fooled by the Mav's game, the Wiz suck and I'm no longer stressing about my 37-45 prediction.

I didn't think I could hate DeBrick any more than I did before this season started. After all, we just got STACKED at the shooting guard position.

But alas, who is there in the end of the game, playing overrated defense, bricking 2 straight 3's and missing two absolutely essential free throws?

DeBrick.

Get off my team.

And what gets me is that he has absolutely no upside. If he was actually "on" he'd have only hit one or two more shots (and probably only one of the FTs) because he's just not very good. McGuire isn't anymore of a self-check than Stevenson but he's bigger and gets more rebounds. I would like to see more of him.

Wade might have had 39 point [more?], but Stevenson played awesome defense on him in the fourth quarter. Yea, he should have pulled back on that fast break, but leep in mind he did draw a foul. Missing the FTs were his only blunder.

Everyone and their mother knew Gil was going to have the ball every possession down the stretch, Foye wasn't needed. If we have Foye in, Wade scores a lot more and we don't even have a shot at the end.

Those calling for his head are completely wrong, IMO. I was very happy with the way DeShawn played. The intensity that he played on defense was infectious, and everyone, even Gil, got into on defense.

Keep doing you, DeShawn. Just make a few open shots.

How come we can never get rid of that one horrendous offensive player that brings the team down?When we send one packing, someone else feels the void.

He is a scrub and he thinks he's a superstar. He has no business attempting shots. He has no business being in the game in those situations.

Well the problem was, Mike Miller was on one arm and Nick Young currently has the lowest bball IQ on this team. In that situation DeBrick is going to have to play some minutes.

Probably, but Young would have done something else bone-headed to make us hate him. We just have to hope Miller is ok

DeBrick reminds me of Joey Harrington. Every team Harrington went to, the starting QB got injured and he got PT. We can keep bringing in replacements but they will just suck a whole lot (Young) or will get injured (Miller).

Stevenson did OK considering the guy he was checking of the defensive end was Dwayne Wade. IMO, the guy who didn't step up to the plate down the stretch tonight was Gilbert. Yes Gilbert had a solid game but that won't cut it when you are the best player on your team and your going up against a playoff caliber team. Shooting 33% from the floor isn't going to put you in the win column on most nights.

Caron Butler didn't have a great night either with only 13 points and only 2 attempts at the line (perhaps because Dwayne Wade was guarding).

BTW, everyone complaining that Stevenson should have made those free throws is overreacting. Heck, the only reason the Wizards were in a position to get those free throws because he was able to secure the ball after Caron Butler tipped the ball. Obviously in retrospect, Stevenson shouldn't have forced the issue. Then again, Stevenson isn't the only guy in the NBA to miss 2 free throws down the stretch (see our best player on the team).

Again, Arenas didn't make plays down the stretch, losing the ball out of bounds, not taking a 3 and forcing a bad pass. Everyone has some blame tonight and saying the only reason we lost tonight's game because of Stevenson is stupid.

Wade shot 2 of 5 from the field in the 4th quarter when Stevenson was in the game. Considering that Wade was destroying everyone else on the Wizards and he could be the best player league (up for debate with Kobe and LeBron), I would have to say that's very good defense. To say Stevenson had little impact on the defensive end is false. And yes, Stevenson sucked tonight offensively. But it's not like playing defense takes zero effort.

There is no doubt DeBrick is amazingly sucky. (Actually, I prefer the name DeSuck.) The problem here is with the Coach, as DeSuck can not be criticized for not trying his hardest. It's really not his fault that he is simply not talented enough. As I wrote last night after the Crabs game, he is not quick enough to prevent dribble penetration from point guards and is not tall enough nor jump well enough to contest jump shots from 6'5" or taller two guards. Perhaps he can guard a stocky guard that likes to post up, but that's about it. And the less we say about ANY aspect of his offense, the better. (Last night, I wrote about the side spin on his shot. I urge you all to check it out next time.)

Apparently, Saunders confuses effort with results. No doubt, DeSuck exerts effort on the defensive end. I simply don't see the effort yielding meaningful results. When DWade missed tonight with DeSuck guarding him, it wasn't because of anything DeSuck did. IMHO, Wade could get any shot he wanted at any time tonight. Sometimes, he missed. After all, he is sometimes human. But when a guy is on, as DWade was tonight, it doesn't matter who is guarding him...Dennis Rodman, Ron Artest, Bruce Bowen, or Bobby Jones (in his prime). Like Michael Jordan, Oscar Robertson, Kobe Bryant, etc, especially in today's NBA with no hand-check rule and superstar protection from the refs, you can not stop these guys. They can only stop themselves.

One can make the assertion that DeSuck made DWade work harder for his points and assists. That is true only on a relative basis when compared with the other defenders we had to offer against Wade. On an absolute basis, DeSuck failed, just like almost 100% of NBA defenders would have failed in the same situation, given the other defensive help personnel we had on the court with DeSuck.

That said, how then can Saunders justify any playing time for DeSuck, since he is such a liability on offense????????? I am not as much upset about the missed foul shots as I am about the two missed back-to-back 3 pointers he missed SO BADLY. They just killed our momentum at the time. The score was even, we were on a roll, Miami wasn't scoring, and he just killed us. His two shots were not even close. They were truly "bricks."

I thought our Coach was supposed to be more perceptive that this. Apparently, he needs to be taught by reading this board, just like EJ should have done. I put this loss on the Coach more than on DeSuck. Perhaps someone should start an "Amazingly Sucky Flip Saunders" post??
