The Thunder are dangerous and playing quite well. Who gets stuck with what could be the toughest defensive assignment of the year?

I'm guessing Haywood but he might need some help on Etan.

They should really put this on national TV. This is a serious head-to-head grudge match. (BTW, I predict Haywood will absolutely OWN Etan. Haywood generally shuts down undersized centers with his length. The only exceptions are the ones with a deadly perimeter shot like a Gooden or McDyess, and Etan isn't one of them. If Etan scores, it'll be when Haywood is helping out on someone else's man.)

Props to Hanx Kranx for breaking the losing streak. Let's hope his good juju gets us another W.

I am pegging this-one as an L. My contention is that our 3 victories have come against teams that were performing poorly on the nights that we faced them. Had we shot our normal % against the Nets, it is entirely possible that we would have lost. We shot %62 that night, a performance we have not come close-to since. The Thunder are an athletic group, and we do not fare-well against fast, athletic teams.

If you are going to start a game thread, nit would be helpful to include gametime and date, and tv coverage.

This game will give us a chance to see what EJ was seeing every day in practice for 5 years.

I think a win at the Thunder can get the season back on track. If they can win here and split the other 4 games in November, the Wizards will be 6-9. Not great, but considering the start to the season, it is not too bad.

IIRC, OKC has a problem sharing the ball. In other words, if Green, Durant and Westbrook all have the ball, it's going in the air. So with that said, let them get theirs.

It will be interesting to see if the Wiz can run their offense against OKC, which is a top ten defensive team this year.

This matchup alone is a perfect example of how low the NBA has sunk in the past 10+ years...

WIZARDS vs. THUNDER

^ That sounds like it should be an NBDL game and not an NBA game.

Oh well...

I sure as hell will not be watching it.

OKC has good length and athleticism on the wings, but they're small in the paint. This would be a good game to try to establish Haywood a little in the post. I don't like when Haywood is forcefed the ball against real centers with height (like Dampier and Perkins), but Haywood can be pretty effective against 6-9 PF's masquerading as centers (like Etan and Al Jefferson).

Esp considering how tough our schedule has been.

OKC is no gimme like they were a couple years ago.

I saw Harden broke out a little last night. Big thing
is we to keep KD under 40. He's a tough matchup for
anyone.

Let Durant get his. I'm not really concerned about this game actually. I think we could beat them.

I'd hope we get to see some of a big front line with Haywood, Blatche and Jamison. I think Antawn can hold his own with Jeff Green, who is not a so much of a slasher, and Blatche should get a little time (along with Butler, Miller, and even Stevenson) to try to bother Durant.

I also hope Foye's ready to play a bigger role. We could use a good game from him too if we're going to beat these guys.

I'll stick my nose in here where it wasn't asked for.

Who do we need to worry about on OKC that DS will
be a suitable foil for?

I'm betting Foye comes out with a nice game.
In addition to the usual suspects.
