Not making this all fancy. Keeping it simple, which is what we should be doing on the court!!!! Stop passing up open looks, shoot the damn ball!!!!

If we can't get our offense on track against the Raptors, we can't get it on track against anyone.

They're currently one of the worst defensive teams of all-time.

Even if we lose, I just want to see Gilbert playing like Gilbert. Not Chauncey, not Kidd...just Gilbert. Whether it amounts to a win, loss, tie, whatever...

He's facing Jose "Matador" Calderon for god sakes.

Coming into this game TOR is 3rd in the league in ORTG and 30th in DRTG. We're 25th and 20th, respectively. Clearly an ECF preciew....

I don't like the matchup of Haywood on Bargnani. After 5 years under EJ, Haywood is hardwired to stay at home and protect the paint. He is mentally incapable of leaving the lane exposed to go out and chase a 3-point shooter. (This isn't really a criticism. In general, it's a good thing for your center to protect the paint.)

I'd put Jamison/Blatche on Bargnani and have Haywood cover Bosh. Indeed, this might be a game where Haywood's minutes should be limited. McGee might be a better option on Bargnani. (One caveat: Bargnani is a terrible rebounder and Haywood is the best offensive rebounder in the NBA. Haywood might have a field day on the offensive glass.) Whatever the case, I think this is one game where the dropoff from Haywood to McGee won't be dramatic - so Haywood should play with reckless abandon and not worry about foul trouble.

Toronto is the 6th best 3-point shooting team and they are 7th in 3-pointers attempted. Only 3 teams are equal or better at getting 3-pointers up with efficiency. We have to chase them off the 3-point line and force them to shoot midrange jumpers. (Of course, that's a wise strategy all the time.)

You want Butler. He's a really tough guy, hence the nickname "Tough Juice". His jab step is so deadly; even I bite while watching on my couch. It's crazy how he can drill shots right in defenders faces. In fact, he often waits for defenders to guard him before shooting - even when wide open! That's how confident he is in his jump shot.

You give us too much credit my friend.

We are currently on pace to be THE worst defensive team of all time.

Just stop at 150, please.

We're not much better, man. At least you have one of the top offenses in the league.

This should truly be a clash of the titans.

Over-under on this defensive gem?

Methinks 250 is not unreasonable for total points in this one.
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Battle of two softie teams, Toronto wins easily if they have their regular shooting night.

Foye > Jose (when factoring contracts)
Butler > Bargnani
Oberto > Banks

What do you think?

Pretty funny that the game thread has turned in to trade session between the fans of two underperforming teams.

That brings up whether or not it is possible to swap enough players between the two teams to make them both better.

We could get a win, if Gilbert plays like he did in the beginning of the season..ever since that Heat game at home he`s been **** up...He needs to stop acting like a child, just to prove a point..I am the biggest Gilbert fan on here...but he needs to lose the ego and just play the game...

We have not score over a hundred often this year. I don't see this happening unless Gil and Caron break their slumps.

Actually, we are playing the Raptors. I can see Jamison going off for 40, with Gil and Butler in the high 20s. Bosh doesn't defend well outside of the Olympics, Calderon is slower than Gil by a lot, and Turk is slower than Caron. We could score 160, really :)
