I know that the unison was only 11 games and 55 minutes plus a summer league campaign this year, but it's enough to make him officially an ex-Wizard, and so I thought some of you might want to know this.
James Lang has had a stroke and is paralysed down the left hand side of his body.
http://www.dleagueutah.blogspot.comThe news isn't good. The news isn't good at all. He's only 26.
If you want to send James Lang some words of encouragement, his Twitter account is
here. There's a good chance he never reads what you write, since he'll be out of the rotation for a good while and Twitter gets a bit silly with older tweets. But it can't hurt to try.

oh man, that is just unbelievably sad and terrible to hear. James played some good basketball for us when he was here. Here's hoping he can find the strength to do it again some day.

Thoughts and prayers to him and his family. He seemed like a good guy. Sucks to hear something like this

speaking as someone who, too, has suffered a stroke at a young age, this i feel deep empathy for what he's going through. He's got a rough road ahead of him. months of rehab, therapy and frustration. I hope he has a strong support system in place (friends, family, employer, etc...), as that, imho, is the key to recovery.
There's a bit of tragic irony in this story for me as he, Lang, was one of several Wizards who autographed a basketball that the Wizards organization sent to me during my stint in a post-stroke rehab hospital. I'd really like to write the guy a personal letter, as I remember thinking that there was nothing that could have benefitted me more than communicating with someone who had shared, and recovered from, a similar situation. So, if anyone has knowledge of how to send him a letter, i'd be much obliged if you PM'd that info to one of the Mods to email to me.

That's awful. How do you get a stroke that young? That's scary. I wish him well and a full recovery.

It's actually more common than you might think. My stroke resulted from a clot that formed in my carotid artery, the lining of which tore when I fell hard on some stairs. These types of carotid injuries can happen to anyone at any age. Its what happened to Teddy Bruschi, and I've met some folks in their 20s with similar stories.
