Excellent thread, Ed!

I particularly like "The Treacherous Pale Elves". My word, we're in for it now, the only thing that can save us is......The Washington Wizards!

Hopefully 'One-Hundred-Million-Dollar-Man' and 'Space Cadet' cadet are able to take advantage of their less than stellar backcourt.

must win game in view of 3 game losing streak and
favorable upcoming schedule (starting now) and
current standing and record. No excuses.
Just win baby.

Wish I could go tonight, too many
other things on the schedule. Will
watch the game on DVR.

This game is the start of our comeback and I think we can win without Gil playing great and being aggressive but it would mean alot more if he did. I compare this game to the one we just had with Detroit. Before the Detroit game we lost at the buzzer to Toronto on a last shot miss by Gil and the team seemed to hang there head going into Detroit, and no one hung it lower than Gil. We just lost another game at the buzzer to the C's on Gil's missed FT's. In the Toronto game I still felt ok because I was thinking that the old Gil may be returning but he let me down the next game.

I hope he doesnt do it again this time. The C's game was maybe the closest all season that Ive seen him look to the old Gil or atleast since the NJ game in our 3rd game of the year. I loved the way he pushed the tempo and stayed aggressive. If we had won then I think he would be on the attack tonight and go for 30 easily but since we lost Im scared that he might hang his head again and lay back like he did against Detroit which will make the rest of the team follow. The fact is every good player has teams that they own and Gil always lights up the Pacers if he wants to. The question is will he want to tonight. I think alot of it is mental and he goes in the tank anytime something bad happeneds right now.

I also dont like the fact that Flip said he was really sore yesterday. Thats already setting up for him to ease off and its also setting up for Flip to do those dumb sub patterns were he sits Gil after 6min or whatever. The good thing is that Flip was encouraged for the 1st time by some of the things we did in that game and he preached to them about how much we need this win heading into the road trip so I think we should win even if Gil shuts it down, espically since they dont have Granger. However, if Gil comes to play then I think we will blow them out and we will go on a big run to where we soon enough will be to .500 and heading past it just like that

We are giving ourselves less and less wiggle room for bad losses. We have to win this game to start moving in the correct direction to make the playoffs. You have to play a complete 48 minutes which we just don't do. I'll be on the road during this game so won't have time to watch, but just hope we step up and put a full game together.

Wiz are losing, but I'm in freaking Hawaii. Didn't get to watch the bos game, but seems like everyone was over reacting. We can hang with the bostons and cavs....I'm saying, just play the season out and get in the playoffs.

Great work! Time for us to finally get a win. If this team isn't at .500 by all-star break, then it's time to blow it up completely.

Wiz will win tonight. Gilbert scores 30 with Young out of the Starting Lineup.

Stevenson is starting tonight.

The good and the bad about starting Deshawn. The good is that this was the lineup that was the #1 seed 2 years ago, they are familiar with eachother, Deshawn brings the D, it finally gives us enough shots to go around for the big 3, espically Caron since we take out a scorer, and the best thing is that it forces Gil to be aggressive since he knows he has to score with Deshawn in.

The bad thing is that we took the lead with DS last game and then we lost it because Flip started running his curl plays that he runs for guys like Rip. You can do those plays with NY, MM, Foye, and Gil but they dont work with Deshawn. He just cant score and you dont really want him to have the ball in those spots even though he is a good passer. Maybe on O we can move Caron to the 2 and let Deshawn play the 3 so we can run those curls for Caron

I actually hate that we're starting Deshawn, but unfortunately it's probably whats best for the players we are putting on the floor. This team basically needs a self check at one of the positions on the floor in order for Gilbert to feel able to shoot the ball. Absolutely ridiculous, but so be it.

hopefully this will give ds some confidence, he might make a few shots. i do think he needs to take himself out back and shoot himself in the face with a cut-off shotgun if he does his, i can't feel my face HSIT

The chat room we've been using during games is apparently down. If anyone has a chat room we can use, post the link here and I'll check in. It's good therapy to commiserate with fellow sufferers.

Oh god. Ds is starting ? What the he'll is flip thinking? Not good. We need to move forward. Ds shouldn't even be here next year. Starting to wonder when flip is going to have his light go on.

Only explaination I can think of is he wants Gil to go balls out without thinking when to shoot

Honestly I can think of one reason to start DeShawn: for a Princess Bride-style moment of one-upsmanship. "Ah, Indiana, I see you play basketball well. Perhaps better than I. But I have a secret, DeShawn Stevenson is not an NBA starter." *Subs in Nick Young*

Don't know if you do already, but you can try posting on Bullets Forever. It's a great site.
