Wizards vs Warriors 12/18 @ 10:30 EST

Post#1 » by Astonished » Fri Dec 18, 2009 6:44 am

Hello RealGM. I've been a long-time lurker here but haven't posted much. Some of you may know me from other Wizards sites and I have a decent game thread record, so I thought I'd step up to the plate here, afterall the Wiz need everything they can get right now.

Bring on the draft they suck just like my Steelers. After watching us fall to the kings I don't see how we win this game.

Sick game thread dude.

Anyways, now we get an up close look of Randolph....

Well those of you that stay in to watch it. Sorry, but I just can't justify giving up a Friday night for this team. I disappoint myself enough when I go out, I don't need the Wizards to do it when I stay in haha.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Nice choice. As they say. Location. Location. Location :)

I think we will turn it around, but not until something changes in the line ups.

You simply cant start DS with a recovering Gil. We simply aren't athletic enough with that line up.

Haywood. Slow later foot speed. Slow jumper. Average shooting
AJ. Slow lateral foot speed and boarder line injured but a viable scorer.
CB Not quick enough. Not a great leaper. needs to go back to his old style of being the glue guy.
DS - not a great leaper. Terrible shooter. No business being out there. At least do DMAC.
GA. He is the most athletic but his rim leaps aren't there. He is knocking off the rust.

We need to be more athletic. If your like the idea of DS at SG, then DMAC is better. Or go with NY.

There are more moves then that but if that doesn't change, I wont like our chances.

As-long as Flip keeps trying to recapture the past glory of the trio in today's NBA, we are going to come-up short. We may win some games, but on-balance we will be stuck as a one-and-done wannabe playoff team.

I think the keys to the game are

1) Mix in zone on defense. Otherwise, ellis, maggettee and randolph will all kill us. All three like to drive the lane, but none are great jumpshooters. Let haywood and blatche patrol the paint in the zone.

2) be patient on offense. There are plenty of mismatches to be exploited with the warriors' lineup (2nd worst in opponents' points in the paint; second worst in opponents' 2pt percentage). Play inside-out through haywood/jamison/blatche on the block. Giving the ball to jamison or butler on the wing is a good way to shoot ourselves in the foot again.

Find a way to lose by a point or two seems to be the Wizards special talent.

the real question of this game is, how many shots in teh post will Flip design for Blatche and will he hit them at a high percentage?

How many times will Jamison score in the post while being guarded by a powerforward? And I don't count Jamison grabbing a loose ball and flinging it up and score with no one guarding him.

How many times will haywood put a up brick in the post with his mechanical moves when going one on one?

That will define where the wizards are as team. It ain't pretty folks.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

I expect us to win tonight. Gil & AJ never lose to GS and they usually play there best ball. Even when Gil was a bad PG with NO PG skills, he always looked like half Magic Johnson & half MJ against GS. He always lights them up.

If we wouldve won last game at the end, I would be 100% sure that Gil would put up his best numbers of the season so far tonight. Like he would go for 40 or 33 & 13 or something but since Gil lost it at the end, Im scared that he will go in the tank again like he's done after some of our other losses where he's choked.

However, I became more confident after reading Gil's comments as he sounds like he really believes he is getting his game back and is about to go off. I would love to see him & AJ go off tonight like they normaly do against GS and then see Gil go off again on the Suns like he normaly does. Then I think he would be good to go the rest of the year

I could see Gil having one of his old fashion battles tonight. I could see him & Ellis going at it. Ellis has been a monster lately and Gil loves to kill the Warriors and is confident right now. Remember how he use to play against Baron Davis when he was on GS, how he played against Bynum on Detroit this Preseason, how he use to go at it with Jason Terry from his same school, and so on. I could see him starting a new one with Ellis tonight as both make alot of plays but Gil looks like the old Gil again and outplays him. BTW, when I say battle, I dont mean just 2 guys playing well. I mean they really go at eachother. Gil had very physical matchups with those guys and you could tell that it was more amped up. They did more special moves against eachother and everything. I could see that happening tonight

randolph is going to worked by jamison/blatche. the kid may be a per36 phenom, but his defense is laughable.

You know, at first I mis-read this as "If we don't win by double digits I will get a tattoo of LeBron's BUTT on my FACE."

And I was like- Wow. This is a guy with a lot riding on this game.

If I was given a night with any female in the world, it would be Bar Rafaeli.
