1. Gil... Very efficient 31 points... Great moves to the basket...
2. CB... Still had some pumpfaking, jabstepping BS but it can be forgotten by his great overall play...
3. Dom... Great hustle, D and rebounding off the bench...

HM:
Flip, for "The Benching"... The starters played out of their mind afterwards... Great job by Flip...

The Second Unit... During the benching, they showed why they deserved playing time, too bad McGee didn't get any time...

Boyk... What can I say...???

Gil all the way.

Great shooting
Really good rebounding
Only 1 turnover

2 plays that stood out too
-driving and pass to Butler (but Cbutt missed) would have sealed it
-the slap at the ball after the jump ball, great play

Only thing I didnt like was the 2 assists, but like that Butler play, he should have had at least 2-3 more.

I picked Gil but I just thought about it and shouldve picked Flip. I think he may have saved the season. When he benched the starting 5 and they came back in, I dont think I saw really one bad shot the rest of the way and they attacked the hoop and went forward more in the 4th then theyve done like the whole season combined. If we play like that then our O is hard to stop but these guys just want to settle for long contested 2's and pass it around the perimiter. Hopefully this carries over and we start attacking, espically Gil. If Gil mixes in the hard drives with his outside game then he will score an easy 30 every night and the other guys will feed off his aggression

1. Gil
2. Blatche
3. Young

I did quite like how the bench played, very purposeful and I think Young did a lot to separate himself from Foye tonight as far as who gets the nod in the next game.

He may not have played on the court but Flip Freaking Saunders is the POTG for benching the starting 5 en masse, and then judiciously bringing them back after their exile.

Liked what Flip said at the presser. Said the guys might have been mad at being pulled but he guaranteed that they weren't as angry as he was.

We need to see more of this from him. It's his team, he needs to stand up to the vets.

The one guy who does seem to be responding to Flip is Gil. Little by little he seems to be finding some balance to his game. His attitude seems good...

I loved that Gil said post game that they all deserved to be pulled (in fact, one might argue that Gil was the only starter who deserved to be in... but he said just the right thing).

I'm going to have to agree with the people saying that D-mac was the player of the game. I really liked his hustle today and I think he gave us the energy we needed tonight.
To do list
==========
1. Fire Ernie Grunfield
2. Get a GM who doesn't screw the fans all the time
3. Beat the Cavaliers in the playoffs
4. Get the no.1 draft pick
5. Get John Wall

He himself might not have noticed it, but that's leadership right there... Good observation on Gil btw...

1 Boykins. His dribbling around is a little annoying to me, but it is to opponents too, and he sparked the second unit and bouyed the first unit, coinciding with the game not slipping away from the Wiz.

2 McGuire. He was everywhere, and he jumps higher from farther for a rebound than any other Wizard. 5 RBs in 8 minutes, and he had Sixers looking over their shoulders. He sure needs to get all of DS's "defensive stopper" (just writing that makes me laugh) minutes.

3 No one really fits. I guess Arenas, but he was (a little inexplicably) sat for a long time and was cold for much of the game, coinciding with it looking like it might slip away. Butler had an overall unspectacular game (usually stuck pretty close to Iguodala), punctuated by a few spectacular plays, and he made all his FTs.

I guess I'll go with Flip as #3, even if he's not a player. After Foye's pass bounced off Haywood for a turnover, the guy behind me saw substitution was imminent and yelled "You can't blame that just on Foye." Saunders must have heard him, benching all the starers and reminding them that it's a team game

McGuire is a nice sentimental pick, but c'mon guys, Gil was the POTG. 31 points on 13-24 shooting with 3 threes while quietly leading the team in rebounds. That's a great night.

1. Arenas
2. DMac
3. Boykins

interesting observation...

first of all, flip tried to substitute when it was not possible (refs were trying to figure out some clock issues) and had the bench sitting in front of the table for the last play. the starters knew what was coming.

BUT,.....speaking of Gil's attitude, He was the only one running back to the bench when the next wistle blew (are you havin a laugh?) , while the rest gingerly strolled with their heads hung down back to the bench. way to go gil, nice game. pog for me! then boink, then dom and dray!

There is a marked difference when Dom is in the game, he brings our energy-level up to where it should be in every game. He's the only guy on our team that hustles, tries to block every shot and is "active".
