Oy Folks!

We have been using the Chatzy chat-room set-up for a few games now and it seems to be working quite nicely.

there are however the usual glitches: trolls, idiot, morons and the like.

i have created a virtual room that stays in chatzy's cache. we dont have to start a new chat-room for every game. we can bookmark it and have it as a 'go to' room.

the new thing is; in order to use the room you will need to register and verify your email address. there will be no password on the room, but your email addy is used to log-on. your email address will stay private.

this way the moderator can 'moderate'. i.e. clear a room, boot a user, change room preferences.

i by no means mean to be the moderator and press this on you but would not mind to take on the task. the task can also be shared and we can have a few moderators.

you as a 'chatter' will NOT be able to clear the room, but you WILL be able to see the visitors list.

If a room password is also desired, since the room could be found through a search function on chatzy, that can be discussed.

I'm all for it. That annoying troll really managed to destroy the chat room last game. We absolutely need a chat room with a ban feature.

we will obviously continue to post the link to the room every game.

you can leave the room and come back to it without loosing the previously entered chats

for now, i am the moderator, but the room is active whether i am online or not. for now i will act as moderator but will have to work something out with some other since i sometimes dvr the game and might not show up for chat untill halftime. although this chat feature might get to start from tip-off.

could someone try to enter the room? see if it works? does it prompt you to register?

i am already registered so i dont get to see how it works.

Z- Just registered and it allowed me to get to the point just prior to entering room. Do I need another password to enter chat room?

I can't get in. I registered with Chatzy and they emailed a password. But when I go to enter the chat room, it says I have the wrong password.

i reset the password to *blank*. should be able to wander on into the chat now

Worked for me as well...have to do something while hoping the Skins beat Dallas

so i realize now that i CAN see email addresses as a moderator. i guess it has to do with the ban feature. bans works via the registered email address. also, bans CAN be lifted if there is a need.

so, I can see your email addy's. i dont know whether the visitors can when they click on visitors list or whatever. to protect privace i will for now block viewing the visitors list by visitors unless requested otherwise and ok'd by the users.

This CHAT is moderated. Let's try and stick to the forum rules for language and trolling. An occasional F'bomb is expected and sometimes appreciated. however, no excessive foul language or body parts speak will be allowed.

Because chat is fast paced only 1 warning will be issued followed by a ban for the specific game. gather your thoughts and try again next game.

I will not play god in the chat, even though for now i am the only mod. every ban or allow will be discussed and decided upon by majority of everyone in the particular game chat.

Let's keep it clean and fn for all to enjoy!
