Please Go Big One More Time

I was never a fan of the big lineup in EJ's system because I just didnt think it fit the Princeton. So far though, I pretty much hate Flip's system as it seems so amatureish at times and like we are doing the same thing over & over again. The system is basically all halfcourt and it seems way more based on team ball than individuals. Normally it seems good to have a team ball system but its literally about like 5 guys being equal. Its like a system you would use if you didnt have big time stars or that you were a scrub team playing against all stars.

Anyways, you arent going to win if the stars dont play well and IDK if Gil will ever be a straight beast in it and Caron looks like he will just always be average. I talked about this last week but I think we have to move Caron to the SG spot. He was a straight 3 who sucked at the SG spot in EJ's system and in Flip's system it seems reversed. Deshawn is horrible again. I just knew when Miller played well in the 2nd and we came back that Flip would start the 2nd half with Miller but he again came out with Deshawn and we quickly went down by 9. He's got to be benched for good now.

Another reason why I made this thread is because I was watching the Cavs-Lakers tonight and it was sad thinking about us. Even though we never reached that level fully, we still use to battle with the Cavs on that court in the playoffs and now thats over. One thing that stuck out though was how big & physical they were. Its ok not being that way if you can score 120 like we use to but thats not the case anymore. Even when we're hot it doesnt look explosive. Thats why I think we should go big. One is because watching those teams tonight reminded me of what Flip's teams looked like. I think they are designed moreso that way with a big defensive frontline and guys like KG or Sheed at the 4. Blatche isnt that but he's still big & skilled enough and I just think it fits our system a ton better. I think we instantly get bigger, more physical, will play better D, and I think the shot selection will be better.

It may be harder to do without Gil since you are losing a ball handler and Foye doesnt have those kind of skills but lets atleast try it. I cant believe that Flip tried it one game against by far the best team in the league at the time which was the Spurs and then he stopped. Even in that game we played well and had the lead but Flip like an idiot, went small in the 4th. I also dont think Miller played in that game but he might have. Miller is now back and looking better every game but I like his contribution from the bench. I like the thought of him & Earl coming off the bench with the big guys starting. Either way Deshawn should be done. He's had a couple of chances. I will settle for Miller starting as I think he could make Caron better with his passing even though he over passes too much. I would settle for Miler starting with NY off the bench but I wouldnt mind seeing is give the big lineup one real try because its obvious this one wont work.

We have some big teams coming up so this is the perfect time to test it. Also last game we only lost by 1 but you saw Dirk was killing AJ while Blatche was playing awsome D on Dirk. I prayed that Flip wouldnt put AJ back in since he was having a terrible game and couldnt stop Dirk but sure enough he did. I just think Flip's system is moreo made for big lineups and halfcourt ball so lets put those guys in the game and see how it works for a few games. This also gives Oberto a chance to play who no one seems to like but I do as long as he's playing his normal role. Let him come off the bench for passing and defense. You could start Oberto and use Blatche as another scorer off the bench but I wouldnt trust that as enough offense. Start Blatche next game and see how it goes, please. If not then atleast start Miller and never play Deshawn again. That could work

Right now, for several reason, are better off staying with what we are doing.

1- MM isn't ready to start yet. He was injured for a while. We need to go careful with him. Specially because he doesn't seem to give a damn about his body. Dude will kill himself to get a ball.

2- We are missing reliable quality bench players. DS may suck but he gives solid effort on D every night. It was great for two games where he actually hit the 3. That made a big difference for us.

Nick isn't ready to start. I think he is making progress. He is a lot more focused and less goofy kid but I don't think he is there yet. With DS, the ball doesn't stick in his hands because he isn't looking to shoot. With Nick, you just never know. Kid still makes those stupid mistakes.

So that leaves you with DS starting. Like it has been posted, the said thing is the DMAC hasn't better him out after starting all those games there last year.

So DS is your starting SG for those reasons and MM is coming off the bench which is the right thing to do for now with this roster and he recent injuries. But it help also because we need a solid bench player like him. He is in to end the game so that's good.

Only way right now we could line up bigger is to go Foye, CB, AJ, AB, BH
The problem there is we don't have a reliable back up center behind BH. See my sign

This roster is still missing some really import bench players so we can max what we already have.

I take it you didnt fully read my post because what you said at the end is what I meant. I mean start Blatche again. I think Oberto is a pretty good backup Center. I think DS will start tonight though because Flip will want him on Wade but he just wont work. He may give you a good 2 games but it wont work overall. It needs to either be Miller or Blatche and I think the big lineup with Blatche is better suited for Flip's system while I also think Caron is a better SG in Flip's system
