hi I just checked your board because I actually felt like antawn jamison is the biggest all star snub this year and literally nobody seems to talk about it (as there is no topic on this board either). don't you feel he should have made it averaging 22 and 9?

Well, I guess there isn't a "Wizards to the allstar game?" thread.

I think it would be a travesty to knock some other deserving player off the allstar team in order to have a token Wiz player. No one on this team deserves any recognition, although Jamison is and has been an offensive stud his entire tenure here.

Jamison has put up some good numbers this season. However the team results make it hard to make a case that he deserves to be on the All-Star team.

Zach Randolph had similar numbers to Jamison last season.

I think David Lee and Josh Smith were more deserving of Garnett's spot than Jamison.

Yeah. We have the 3rd worst record in the league. Jamison has been a warrior, but it's not really a snub for him to be left off the AS team.

I don't think anybody was surprised. All fans know (or at least should know, by now) that there's an unspoken rule that says coaches don't vote for guys on losing teams unless they're a top ten level player. So really, no big deal.

Interesting hypothetical: if we had made the oft-discussed Jamison-for-Ilgauskas swap a couple of wekks ago, do you think the coaches would've then felt comfortable enough to have voted him in? If he got off to a solid stars in Cleveland, I think they just might have.

Whether Jamison would be an All-Star with the Cavs depends on what happened with Hickson. If he stayed in Cleveland he would likely eat into Jamison's minutes enough to drop him out of All-Star contention. However if the Cavs dealt two front-court players, I think Jamison's minutes and production would be similar. I think that Jamison's numbers on a winner are an All-Star season.

My hatred for the Cavs has dwindled to a flicker now. Why not reward Jamison for his hard effort and trade him to a winner?

My hatred hasn't changed a bit. There are other winners in the NBA who might want Jamison. If the best deal is Cleveland you make that deal. But look around first. Cleveland would be my last choice.

Agreed. And we need to squeeze everything out of them that we possibly can.

um, AI nullified one roster spot, we stink as a team, and Bosh/KG/Lebron locks at the forward spots, i don't see how anyone is truly surprised that Jamison didn't make the squad. Plus you could smell the "aw shucks, just throw the overachiever a bone" spot was destined for Gerald Wallace from a mile away. I was worried that Deron wouldn't make it and he actually deserves his berth.

edit: upon reflection, we are a bunch of negative nancies on this board. not only does nobody stand up for Jamison, we all continue to voice our discontent and commence with trade talk. say what you want about the raptor board - those guys have a homer flame that is inextinguishable.

Josh Smith didn't get a spot, so yeah, no objection from me.

If this season went expected and the Wizards had the 4th or 5th spot in the East, then the Jamison should have gotten an All-Star spot.

You must be sleeping each year when the annual Toronto Board Armageddon starts due to them realizing the Raptors aren't the #1 team in the world.

Toronto fans are the most up-and-down fans I've ever seen (and yes, that includes Wizards fans). A good people, sure. But practically bi-polar.

OTOH, i DO wonder how Channing Frye put himself in a situation to win the 3 point contest.
